Same team as Saturday for me, give them another chance to form a similar understanding to that of the Lincoln game. Whilst I understand the desire to see the wizard of Oz replace McCormick I have the feeling that the one team young Luke will deliver a match winning performance against will be the side that shelved him very early in his loan spell with them, show them what they missed.

Good point to be fair. Didn't realise that.

I’m thinking Ben will stick to the 5-3-2 that we’ve seen over the last few games. It does make you wonder where certain players fit in, it looks like he favoured a front 3 ( of sorts) and envisaged a central striker with 2 tricky players either side (Nicholson, Hanlan, JML)
Now where does JML fit in?
As an impact sub only? Same as Nicholson?
Maybe to change formation if losing and go for it?
Anyway I’d keep the same side for tonight, if it ain’t broke.....

This post has taken me ages... ---------------- Jakkola ---------------- ---Ehmer-------- Baldwin ------Harries--- Hare-----Westbrooke-----Grant-----Tutonda ----Nicolson---------------Oztumer------- ------------------Hanlan----------------- Subs Daly for Hanlan (a bit of rest the two front men a bit as I can see Shrewsbury being a bit physical in their tackling) McCormick for Oz (Tired legs / Injection of pace and that desire to punish them for not playing him more plus he can bants with Daly on the bench as they seem to have a decent relationship) JML for Nicholson (Tired legs / Injection of pace) Need that quick tempo in this match and more solid from set pieces to get the 3-0 ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) What we might see if BG rings the changes with a view to rotating the squad for the games as he did mention that they have had these quick turnaround in games in mind since the start of the season Kilgour for Ehmer/Baldwin - Don't mind this Upson for Westbrooke - Don't like this Leahy for Dave - Don't like this JML/Nicolson for Daly - Don't mind this Oz/Hargreaves for McCormick - Don't mind this Nicholson for Hare - Not Sure how I feel about this UTG

Wonder if Ben Liddle will feature on the bench? May have dreamt we signed him from Middlesbrough. Not been mentioned since. Last time out we played really well there winning 4-3 with goals from;Ollie,Millwall Tone,Sercs and Ogogo all of whom have left.In a previous encounter there,Will Puddy had a 'Mare. Yes, and without looking it up - how many of our likely 11 today played in that game in Nov 2019 ?

Whichever team is selected players have to warrant a start and no way has Kilgour done anything when he has played to suggest he should be "given" a game tonight. He has been terrible this season. Couple of changes at the most tonight and those really being down to what Ben sees in training as regards those -players he feels are not up to9 two games in four days.Because we don't look like a free scoring team Shrewsbury will; like Burton; provide tough opposition but are definitely opponents that we should be aiming to beat so not too many changes.

Would guess;Keeper,Leahy and Bunny Hare just Jaakkola - Leahy, Little and Upson played but all are unlikely to start ! Amazing that in 11 months only 3 players might be in the 18 -man squad from the last time.

Agree Steve. Ricketts' sides are exactly that. I expect it to be tight at the beginning/first half. I hope BG can release the shackles as the game goes on - I think we have the better attacking players.

I'd mix things up and go 442 with a diamond midfield.
__________Jaakkola__________ Hare__Ehmer__Harries__Tutonda ___________Grant____________ ___Westbrooke__McCormick____ __________Oztumer___________ ________Hanlan__Daly________
Grant can play CB so if we need to go back to a 3 at the back then he can drop back and let Hare/Tutonda get forward more. I wouldn't drop McCormick. I think he has played well for us.

They'd have to be really well drilled as if we were caught on the break with Tutonda and Hare high up the pitch, then we could be in real trouble if the team don't quickly react. Could be really exciting though having a box to box CM, 2 playmakers, 2 advanced wingbacks and 2 strikers on the pitch. Luton 2 seasons back did this to great effect I think.

I like cj's line up but now is not the time to be changing the system after three games unbeaten. BG will be crucified if he changes the formation like that and we lose!

I agree fully with what you are saying. It puts a hell of a lot of responsibility on Grant to stay defensive and cover the attacking full backs. And responsibility on Westbrooke and McCormick to make sure when we lose the ball that they fight to get back.

If it works then great. But yes, if it didn't work, Im sure he would be crucified. Personally I think maybe it would be best for BG to stick with what is working but if it was my decision, I would gamble to mix things up. Lots of games in the next few weeks.
