Yeah, well, after Garner that’s a little tricky but Coughlan did what he was bought in to do. here’s hoping. I’m no fan of the way Coughlan left the club but I don’t think Starnes could handle a strong character on a daily basis and GC could see the writing was on the wall and got out when he saw an opportunity

With all due respect I along with many other fans would not know a good prospective manager from a average one, except knowing (or thinking they know) when it's time for an existing manager to go. As far as Tisdale is concerned he had a reasonably successful time in the lower leagues over a long period of time as far as football managers go. Do some on this forum discount him as he was associated with a nearby team? Another out of work successful manager over an extended period of time, but at a higher level of football, was sacked not for being a failure at the bottom of the table but for not gaining the ultimate prize of what some see as the Golden Fleece of promotion to the Promised Land of the Prem. But for an association with a team across the water a certain "Little Lee" could be our saviour. After all he did for them why not us?

Not sure that Garner was a Starnes appointment. Fairly certain that he was pushing for Cotterill. Hamer was pushing for Cotterill. To be fair he couldn't have done any worse than BG!

Hamer was pushing for Cotterill. Thanks, I stand corrected. I thought it was wrong to wear arch supports in my shoes......but I stand corrected!!

Am i understanding this thread right? that we as supporters are calling for the manager to be sacked before he has even been appointed? Wow that must make the chosen one really feel welcome, wonder if Wael will change his mind after reading all these considered opinions?

Pretty sure he is taking the water because quite a few are not overly keen on a possible Tisdale appointment. Cant say I'm over excited either, but he will certainly be an improvement on Garner! I am more than happy to see how Tisdale does should he get the job though as I dont have a strong reaction either way. Tisdale would just be a bit..."meh" for me.

I will start this thread before GGMI,imho another disaster waiting to happen. Hope I’m terribly wrong though. I think Gas Go Marching In will be too busy counting his winnings to have time to start a thread.

I'm the same Hugo however I was delighted when we appointed 'a name' like McGhee and look how that turned out. It is a huge decision for the Club - Get the right man and we could genuinely push on - Get the wrong man and we will stagnate for another two years at least.

Is this an attempt to beat Leroy Rosenior's record as the shortest managerial appointment of 10 minutes - we sack them before they're even in through the door.
This thread is an absolute embarrassment.

Either we will stay around the relegation area, in which case he will be sacked soon, or he will achieve mid table mediocrity in which place he will stay for 10 years and develop players like Nichols.

We all have our own opinion on who we’d like to see and who we’d not like to see. All that matters is that it appears the board feel Paul Tisdale is the man to lead us forward. Let’s remember that it isn’t any one of us on here (unless we have some interesting cloaked up posters) who appoint the manager. Let’s not give someone stick for who gets appointed this time other than those in charge of the decision. In Starnes we trust 😳 Ha! I wouldn't trust him. First of all it was said, they would take their time. Then it transpires he was on the phone to Tisdale the moment BG was sacked. Suspect they were "Devon Buddies". As for changing the clubs DNA what bollox is that? The supporters are the DNA, because we are the constant. Managers, Owners, CEO's and players come and go, the supporters dont.
