Used to enjoy running the line at the old Springfield Park ground. The lady secretary would ask for your expenses, give you a hug and a souvenir rosette.

If we don't come back with the points then things are really grim. Tisdale might well be happy with a point but for me anything less than a win would be a poor show.
Much will depend on selection and whether we go for a win and whether the players have the commitment, desire and energy they have lacked so often.
I'm not confident there is that real desire to win present in the team at the moment so I am expecting a home win for Wigan.

Wigan haven't won for like 11 games. Great opportunity for PT to get his first win on the board.... And I think he will....

Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere but we do seem never ending suckers for ending other teams bad runs, because of this alone I cant see us winning this one?

On the settling for a draw front. If PT is happy to settle for a point I’m sure it’s only a temporary thing whilst he gets his foot in the door. It’s a bit of a baptism of fire at the moment. I’m only expecting him to start making an impact from this weekend. In his interviews I swear he was saying he wants to set up each team to win, and will only start to make his changes over time.

I’m confident, expecting a reaction from Saturday and hopefully Tisdale might know his squad a bit better now. Wigan have been on some awful form as of late, 0-2 away win.

I'm back again.. Interestingly Wigan are lowest on shots on target and highest for shots on target against. So there is plenty to back up that they are the worst team in our Legaue. They are -46 and we are -16. The only other teams lower than us are Burton on - 33 and Shrews on - 19. Which also Interestingly puts us 4th from bottom, exactly what we are and the 3 teams below us on these stats are the teams below us in the table. The next lowest after us is Rochdale and they are 5th from bottom. So for all BG wanting to play pretty football, at the end of the dya what matters is shots for and against on target (pretty simple really!) www.footcharts.co.uk/index.cfm?task=basics_shotsontargetWhich also strengthens the case for why Coughlan’s side was actually better than it looked.

Is this a 6 pointer? Or too early?

Is this a 6 pointer? Or too early? Too early IMO, but it does look like a ‘must not lose’ kind of fixture.

One for the historians is most definitely “most unimpressive run halted by Bristol Rovers”, I’ll bet there are some real whoppers.

Wigan stopped Chorley's winless run (winless start to the season) by giving away a 2 goal lead to lose 2-3 at home in the fa cup the other day.... That's a pretty impressive banana skin....

Not sure what to expect - I just hope it's better than the shambles on Saturday.
PT may well go for the draw, to stabilise the ship, and instil a bit of confidence without taking risks.

... Formation wise... your guess is as good as mine - have picked my version of the 4-2-3-1 which i think PT is a fan of using. This pick is more what I think we could see if we had a mix of experience and youth. -----------------------Jaakkola----------------------- ---Hare------ Ehmer ----- Baldwin -----Tutonda---- ----------Upson ------------ Westbrooke ------------ ---Nicholson----------------------------McCormick--- -------------------Ozzy-------------------------------- -----------------------------Hanlan-------------------- ... I agree with you on formation, but would put Koike or Leahy (if fit) at left Back in preference to Tutonda. We need to show some attacking intent and I think this team would do it.

Is this a 6 pointer? Or too early? Not quite. An important match certainly but not a “must win” match. Those come in March and April, or even May. But a win would be very good! UTG!

I’ve said elsewhere I’m not sure a back 3 suits our CHs. But I don’t think Tis will change to a back 4 without a full week of training to transition to the move. He’ll have had 2 sessions, perhaps only Monday so I think he’ll stick with back 3 tonight. UTG!
