So, this one was a tough one in terms of digging up stats for I'm afraid.
Against Swindon they played 4-3-2-1
Adam Campbell bagged himself 2 goals playing as one of the two "number 10's" wearing the number 10 shirt. Their sole striker on the day was Luke Charman who wore number 19.
Highlight don't give much away in terms of how they play, so I hope we go about our business and pin them back in their own half like we did Wigan but with the end product courtesy of Hanlan and/or Daly.
I think it would be safe to say that PT will have a back 4 and one or two holding mids.
I would like to see this starting eleven:
-------------------Jaakkola---------------- Kilgour --- Ehmer ---- Baldwin----Leahy -----------Westbrooke--Upson------------ ----Nicholson-------Ozzy------Barrett---- -------------------Daly--------------------
Some good height and experience at the back should cope with long balls. Upson plays deep using his experience and sideways passing to Westy. Really creative attacking midfield and willing runners for more direct passes from the back or Westy. Team to me looks balanced.
Looking at the highlights, Swindon really did give them the two goals:
What do you think?

They'll obviously be massively up for it and it's the FA Cup so anything can happen.
BUT - we have to go all out for this - go for the jugular. All out attack IMO. Want to see us put a team to the sword and we really should be beating teams like Darlington so no excuse.
In a dream world, we put 5 or 6 past them to give the group some confidence.
In reality we'll lose 2-1.

In PT's position I think I'd be trying to pick a team that I think can play football better than Darlington. As part of that I'm almost certainly going to select the players I think will score more goals than Darlington will but at the back I'm going to be looking for players who won't concede as many goals as Darlington.
In terms of tactics on the day I'm going to want us to be kicking the ball into the goal as much as possible, but not any goal, only the goal we're attacking. I'll be looking for us to be better at football than the other side and I would really be hitting home to the players beforehand and at halftime that they should try to ... y'know ... win.

I think getting to round 3 would constitute a good cup run....
So.... A good cup run and a mid table finish would look very impressive for PT....

No disrespect, but I think you will confuse the squad with your high thinking ideas and double speak. They are used to far simpler and concise verbiage from Ben and none of this fannying about that you are suggesting.

Here's the man to tell you exactly what to expect from Darlo. First off, we're completely fan-owned, have no full-time players, train twice a week (or once when there's a midweek match) and there's a real connection between players (who include football coaches, recruitment consultants and, yes, a plumber) and fans. We do have some former league players and some who were in the Academies at Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
What you won't get is a long-ball, lump-it, sit back and kick-anything-that-moves side although we face quite a few like that at our level. Our game is based around high-energy passing and movement and we are decent counter-attacking side as there is a lot of pace and a fair bit of skill in the team. We don't thrive when teams sit back against us and pack the defence and close down our players quickly.
But if we are given space and allowed to play our game, we can be good to watch and effective. This is why we have been very good on the road (four wins on the bounce) when teams tend to give us more space and time to play our game and sh**e at home when teams have had ten men behind the ball and used spoiling tactics. We did beat Swindon on merit even though the winner was a deflection.
Shame there's no fans allowed as last season we took around 1,300 to Walsall for an FA Cup first round tie and we would have brought a lot on Sunday despite the journey. To be playing league clubs seems like a little taste of the old days before we were hurled down into the Northern League after a series of Banned word owners. The most difficult part of our journey back has been not having our own ground and having to fund the necessary infrastructure at the rugby ground we play at (but don't own) as well as keeping a competitive side. But our fans have become quite a formidable fund-raising machine.
Obviously you being full-time and the three-league gap should stack thing heavily in your favour. If all your players are 100% committed, organised, full of spirit and energy and don't make Swindon's mistake of thinking it could be an easy ride then I don't see what could possibly go wrong against fired-up non-leaguers with nothing to lose

I think our Darlo fan sums it up nicely ,' if our players are committed, fired up, full of spirit and effort we will win, given our inability to be so in similar games over recent seasons resulting in regular embarrassing cup exits, i fear the worst! It is such a shame Darlo fans can not travel as they seem to be fantastic fans shown by the money raised to fund the teams trip. It was not so long ago when this was a league fixture and but for 'those' penalties we could well have ended up in a similar situation, good luck to them in there endeavours to climb back but hope they have the decency not to rise above there station on Sunday so the result goes according to our relative positions in the pyramid!

After our last two performances they will be rubbing their hands together with glee. No 100% fit strikers and failing to score against teams in the bottom 4 of the league we are there for the taking imo.
Personally I think we will lose 1-0.
