Hypothetically, I couldn’t think of anything worse than having to spend every other week in Clifton.

You're having a giraffe ain't you . A stadium in Clifton, someone must be lion the locals couldn't bear it. The council would be batty to seal approval on that. Its almost the polar bear opposite of what we need. They must be living in a elephantasy land thinking the locals would allow the gerriffe-raff around that area. Otter.

Now here’s one for you - can you imagine a new stadium built in Clifton? it’s just been announced that Bristol Zoo at Clifton is being closed and the land sold. The people who run the zoo are relocating to The Wild Place near Cribbs Causeway. So, plenty of land that could accommodate both stadium and a fair size car park! it could never happen of course, but who knows! All comments on this is going to make very interesting reading. Now there's an idea. Any room for us?

No chance for anything other than cheap, ugly, sh** accommodation (probably for students) with no parking spaces but neat tidy cycle tracks. The demise of the Zoo is another big loss to the once great city of Bristol. There won't be anything left soon except pop-ups, bicycles and students.

It is not the demise of the Zoo- just the opposite. They have recognised that there is no future staying where they are and so are relocating to a site with greater potential and much better access/ parking. The site they have will sell for prime housing in one of the most exclusive postcodes in the city that will fund the new bigger accomodation with funds to spare for the future. The question surely is if the Zoo seem to have found a site for relocation so easily - why has it taken Bristol Rovers so long?

There won't be anything left soon except pop-ups, bicycles and I can feel a greater Bristol incoming and the removal of south glos. surely all these things like the arena and the zoo wouldn’t be moved to south glos unless some kind of coming together was coming soon. All of us in south glos refer to ourselves as being from and living in Bristol anyway.

It’s not a recent acquisition. Although I suppose you could say we have been looking for a site for decades.

Places like Thornbury and Yate have BS postcodes and consider themselves Bristol, whereas areas beyond that are pretty much Gloucestershire.

Could the club have a stadium built in Henbury? Plenty of land around Pen Park etc.

The question surely is if the Zoo seem to have found a site for relocation so easily - why has it taken Bristol Rovers so long? True, but it's such a pity that, for example, the big animals couldn't all go out of town and the remaining Zoo property could be for small animals, beautiful gardens, picnic areas etc so that families could go and relax and enjoy the area. And the kids love animals. Will there be regular buses to The Wild Place/the new Zoo, or it is another destination which requires a car ? (forget cycling. It will never succeed big-time). By putting big "attractions" outside the city, they are only creating the reverse of the past (ie a car to the city centre to shop or visit the cinema, go to a concert etc, so now you go by car out of the city to shop or visit the cinema or go to a concert). Infrastructure ? Don't let's start....
