Quality never say die attitude tonite and fantastic 1st half performance, best ive seen for a long time!! back 4 were quality, with maca making akinde look like the player he was for us, kept very quiet. lvd was immense 1st half, will be a star in the future, full of tricks, mans and beard bossed midfield. taylor could have scord more uproar when the ref gave a pen for handball but retrispectively fair play to the lino who overturned it as was his head, (got alot of stick though!!!) get in utg!!!!! Every single player was immense tonight. Even McChrystal!

Fully deserved 3 points tonight just for the first half display alone, was quite worried how we battered them so much and were only 1-1 at half time but we really do now have a team that fight right until the final whistle. How the are clear at the top I do not know, they didn't show any signs of being a good team to me at all tonight. Top of the league ,their aving a larf.

On my way back from Columbia and I'll just make this, when I told customs I was back for a week to watch the Rovers they ripped my bag to shreds! You're not Angelo Balanta by any chance?

First time I've seen Della-Verde play tonight, really impressed. Not only a very skillful player, but can definitely create chances too. Bit raw and makes a mistake or two at times, but that's understandable given his age. Will do very well to keep him, destined for higher things I think.
As for the game as a whole, certainly not a perfect performance - should have been out of sight by HT. 12 shots and so many chances created in the first half, excellent creativity and work rate to keep winning the ball back but we've got to improve in terms of how clinical we are.
Great desire though in the second half, despite a poor start the last 20 minutes were very good. Didn't think we'd get the goal but again, we wanted it and got it in the end! Scrappy winner, but they all count!
Got to build on this now, Welling will be tough but a win is definitely possible! Up the Gas!
EDIT: Some side notes too! McChrystal was excellent on Akinde (and I was fearful about this battle before the game), and whilst Barnet kept the ball well and clearly have some excellent players they really didn't test us that much. It was all about whether we could break them down.

Just arrived in Rome so could not make the game tonight, but just read the thread which makes it real.
What a great night and excellent display by the sounds of it. One happy gas head. Onwards and upwards. UTG

Fantastic! First half was the best I've seen us play this year. Good football. Taylor excellent again. So glad we got what was deserved for once. Don't even know how Balanta scored, it was such a mist of rain down there. Full credit to DC bringing on three attacking subs. Great night.

How did Monky do tonight?
Far from meaning to sound negative, just not sure about the bloke. Think Balanta may be a good shout to take his place on Saturday?

How did Monky do tonight? Far from meaning to sound negative, just not sure about the bloke. Think Balanta may be a good shout to take his place on Saturday? His pass for our first goal was sublime. Kept the ball well , obviously isn't a winger kept cutting inside didn't do anything wrong, he's got a laid back way of playing which I think can be confused with him not being up for it. Talented player who had a good game tonight.

I honesty believe that with a little more time to settle we can prove we have the best team in this league. I also think this team would not have been relegated last season.

Absolutely over the moon with the result. Gutted I missed it, it was the first home game I couldn't make this season due to working. Glad to hear everyone put in a shift. Looking forward to seeing more of the same this weekend.
