Evening all Long time lurker on the forums but never got around to posting so be nice. Thought you might be interested in a vid I managed to take of the handball incident against Barnet. Pretty conclusive IMO, and surprised the useless linesman was so adamant it was the defenders head. Glad it ultimately didn't matter and we picked up the 3 points the performance deserved. I suspect the link below may not work as I am a bit of a technophobe but you should be able to find it pretty easily through a search on youtube Apologies for the ripe language! UTG. Great work Bluearmy. In fairness to the officials, even from your footage it is hard to be sure one way or t'other. Judging by the uniform player and fan reactions, however, I'm inclined to think it was a spot of volleyball.

Looks like handball to me. The ref was closer, so he should have stuck with his decision. Yes we won, so everything turned out OK, but if we'd have been 2-0 at that point and them down to 10 men it would have been a totally different game. They'd only made a sub a couple of minutes before to avoid having a player sent off. I've just read the report of the game here. www.bristolpost.co.uk/TIME-Bristol-Rovers-v-Barnet/story-24686072-detail/story.htmlno mention of the handball. and also........ It seems to me that this was a different game I listened to on the internet.

I thought Barnet actually looked decent but we were just a bit better in every department yesterday. I think we (and the weather) cancelled each other out.
Given all the gushing praise heaped on runaway leaders, free scoring Barnet you'd think reporters may have given us a bit more credit.
They are unlikely to get given a harder game this season.

Barnet looked to me like a team that could make a goal from nothing on a better day. You could tell they weren't up for it after 10 minutes when we came out and blitzed them, never stopped attacking them and bullied them in midfield. That said they did have something about them, we just outplayed them on the night.

he's definitely re-installed something about myself that's been missing for years.... they say you don't miss a good thing until it's gone, i'd say with Sinclair you didn't realise what you were missing until it returns.... Wisdom. I wouldn't quite go so far to call me wise.... just ask hugo, or alternatively read the other 700 odd posts I've put on here....

Sorry. Defo a header. Pretty clear to most around the right hand side of the Blackthorn. His arm went up to give him the impetus to head it up and over. Did you not look at that picture? he was actually at the ground, near the incident. I don't look at a picture of my turd in the bowl to know that I did one

He`s dived with his arm outstretched (either for momentum or to clear it with his hand) but the balls actually hit him on the side of the head just above his ear-temple area, i dont think he knew much about it though and he just was trying to get any form of block on it. any chance you can be more precise Quincy?

yeah, got to agree that it must have been his head.
I was 35 metres away and immediately and 100% thought it was a handball, sending off and penalty. You could see his arm go up ad the ball then went over the bar. From my angle it must have been handball. I couldn;t believe it when it wasn't given.
I texted my brother to say the above, but added that if he didn't handle it then it's a really brave/good call and really interesting as it goes to show that 100's of people can be sincerely wrong.
As I calmed down I remembered that a (Barnet) player went over to the ref as he was was near the dead ball line, and going over to the lino. The player was absolutely 100% convinced that it wasn;t handball. It was an interesting lesson because although footy players routinely lie, I don;t think they lie like that, with so much passion.

Maybe. Or maybe (like me) most people didn't really have a clue whether he'd used his hand or his head, but were baying for blood and trying to pressure the officials to try and help win our team the game? I was right in front of the incident in the centre of the Blackthorn, and I didn't have the foggiest what body part had been used. But was I telling the referee that he didn't know what he was doing and calling him all the names under the sun when he was overruled by the lino? You bet!

Also just seen Balanta goal properly fro the first time. Can't think why the keeper let it go past the line. Yeah, as much as we deserved the win, istm had the keeper been having even an average game, we could have lost.

I believe that in Germany they're mad on this idea. They have special loos that let it lie there to be examined before flushing away. Then again, I believe all sorts of codswallop and I've never been to Germany.
