Surprisingly there’s no mention of the failure to secure a trade deal ( predicted by anyone with half a brain) with the US on the EU thread on the other forum 😬
Wonder why ? 🤔

😂😂 Yeah but we are global... Membership of the US/Canada/Mexico deal would add between 0.1% and 0.2% to GDP. What was our EU GDP again??

Apparently we should be outraged that a lunatic who killed a kid with accomplices, was captured and sentenced to life, served the minimum term has now been released. Outraged because the BBC didn't report the release. Oh, and hanging should be brought back. Anything but reality

Also, would any of them be happy to go to the gallows an innocent man to reintroduce something that isn't actually a deterrent. When the Victorians changed the rules on capital punishment, convictions increased then too. Not because of the lack of deterrent but the juries were more content to convict knowing it wasn't hanging. For some reason they were hesitant to convict on a lower burden of proof when the death sentence was available.

We can withdrawal from the ECHR (separate from membership but obligatory signatory of it as members) and reintroduce the death penalty.

If someone points a weapon at the UK and the UK points one back it's unlikely either will be used. I don't think you can compare the gun ho culture in the states where everyone has a right to bare arms to that of the UK. I'm sure if I or you were the parent of a murdered child our view of hanging would be different.

Oh I've been looking forward to this one for a while now. It's a brilliant rule law where I don't understand why any normal consumer would challenge it. No doubt anyone who would challenge it, would think it was a brilliant idea if Boris said it though. Realistically though, we'll surely follow suit? I can't imagine Apple (who've been very publicly unhappy with this) going out of their way to keep the current portals in the UK only market. That would surely cost more to Apple which would undoubtedly increase costs to the public. But that would never happen... costs rising after Brexit, right?

new splash on @ft website:
Boris Johnson has given the go-ahead to ministers to relax UK immigration rules to allow more foreign truck drivers into the country to ease shortages at petrol stations and wider economic disruption.
