Please drop it. Both of you.
I had to sit through that match as well. So we're all suffering.
If either of you don't drop it, I am going to ban you for a stretch. I don't like to do so, for two Gasheads after a sh** match, but this is f**king me off, now, too.
Thanks Agreed Antonio I thought a forum was about differing opinions and debate...not according to marshy though.... But to be called a shithead is an insult to a paid up supporter if 30 plus years I haven't created any issue here since joining but Marshy seems to have a problem with me but I don't know why... So I am giving him every opportunity to resolve it

Imagine offering out your postcode for a dust up on a football forum ffs! I don’t know if anyone else remembers a poster called Crazy Train who had a habit of calling people out for a spot of fisticuffs...I think he was banned a couple of years ago.

We have lost that match, because of Grant,Ayunga and Kilgour not being able to do simple tasks. Ayunga was better than Hanlan today. Hanlan had probably his worst game in a Rovers shirt. Ayunga was a solid 6 out of 10. The reason we lost was we were too narrow and too predictable. Other than Ayungas pass to Hanlans missed sitter in the first half we never looked like scoring. Watched a different game to me. Charlton put two on Hanlan & it was tough for him. Ayunga had a lot more space but his close control is just nowhere near good enough for League 1. The body language of our midfield (Westbrooke in particular) said it all really. Ayunga can't hold the ball or control the ball coming into him with back to goal. Charlton knew it & tried to cut Hanlon out & force the ball towards Ayunga.

FWIW my thoughts on the game - we played ok but not spectacular. Charlton were average. The game was very even and a draw would have been a fair result. The goal conceded was a fluke and whilst Aneke had 2 clear cut chances and Bogle had a decent chance that was well saved - we had 3 or 4 decent efforts that we should have done better with ( Hanlan and Ayunga hitting the side netting, Kilgours header, Barrett’s acrobatic effort and Hanlans shot wide)... I thought all players played ok but Day, McCormack, Kilgour, Baldwin, Upson, Leahy and Grant played well. Overall we lost unluckily and those people predicting relegation and saying we are a bottom 4 team are wide of the mark Agree with this and your other comments for today. Lets all remember when there have been days when we have had one or zero chances. Not the greatest fan of Barrett, but unlike Westbrooke, he seems to want the ball AND is prepared to run at players - have a go. We seemed reluctant to "have a shot" today, perhaps because the Thatchers End wasn't screaming that at the players.

Yeah we did see different games, both were tightly marked but Ayunga won some headers passed to a Rovers shirt a few times and created our best chance of the game for Hanlan who was unmarked 8 yards out. Hanlan was terrible. I’ve got nothing against Hanlan I think he’s been one of our best players of the season but today he was way off it and either lost the ball or ended up on his arse or both. As for Westbrookes body language that hasn’t been very good all season and whilst I think we’ve got a good playmaker there with potential to be very good he needs to learn how to play football when his teams not in possession. He reminds me of a young Chris Lines. I thought Mc Cormick was our best player today and he was subbed which I thought was strange and any chance of an equaliser was diminished once he was subbed.

It's pretty much the biggest insult you could give me You have called me a shithead..so apologize for it As you don’t seem to be letting it go / taking it somewhere else as requested by two mods now and as Marshy has done, I think it’s best if you serve a short one week ban. Don’t like doing it but if the match day threads are to be ruined by incessant bickering as mods we feel it’s the best course of action, in order to get the best user experience for everyone.

I haven't looked at the stats but I felt goal attempts, half chances, possession etc were fairly even. They had a 1 on 1 at the end when we were throwing men forward but apart from that there were very few clear cut chances in the game.
It was pretty non eventful and if it wasn't for a sloppy goal conceded from a corner it would have deservedly ended 0-0. I wasn't particularly impressed with Charlton.
Having said that, we have to do better. Our play in the final third was very poor. Both strikers failed to make an impression but they were feeding off scraps because the midfield created next to nothing. I thought McCormick was the pick of our midfield and he had one of his worst games since joining so it really doesn't say much for Grant, Westbrooke and Upson.
Hare was very exposed down our right but no doubt Ehmer will be back on Tuesday and hopefully Ozzy will add a creative spark to the midfield.
We do despertaely need another striker up top though. That signing cannot come soon enough.

People blaming either grant or day for the goal today are half right. It’s up to the keeper and whoever is on that front post to be clear about shouts. I reckon neither of them shouted so they’re both at blame. These things happen particularly when you’ve got a new keeper but the most important thing is that Day and the defence get together this week and sort it.

That signing cannot come soon enough. Can’t argue with any of that but do you think the reason we created nothing was largely down to playing a very narrow 4222 formation ? I reckon even if we’d just signed the best forward in league 1 we’d have struggled the way we played today. It was crying out for someone with pace and tricks out wide. Tutonda would have been perfect. 4231 is the way to go with this squad I’ve been saying it all season and for a few games Tisdale did it and we won games. Even without Otzumer and Sammy N we could have played that formation today.

Because the camera follows the ball when 2 or 3 opposition players appear on the edge of our box totally unmarked there's no way of knowing why they are unmarked . i can't wait to watch live and really see what's going on .

Day - 7 At Fault for the Goal Hare - 7 Okay First half Harries - 7 Close up the hole when he came on! Kilgour - 7.5 Fairly solid first half Baldwin - 6.5 Struggled and got turned a bit too often. Leahy - 7.5 Had a good game and was pretty solid today. didn't get forward enough today (unlike the mid-week game) Grant - 7.0 Did what he was asked to do! an Okay Game Rodman - 6.5 Only this low because he was subbed on 30 mins too late Upson - 7.0 Thought he had a solid game within the remit of how he's being asked to play. Westbrooke - 6.5 Not his best game & let his frustrations with strikers show. McCormick - 8 Best player by far. Very good game almost felt like we were conceding the match seeing him subbed off - MOM Barrett - 7 Did nothing when he came on. Would have preferred to see him alongside McCormick instead of replacing him. Hanlan - 5.5 Tough day at the office - marked out of the game today Ayunga - 3 Woeful! Woeful! & out of his depth

It’s one of the down sides of watching the game on ifollow, I reckon if you would of been at the game, you would of got a clearer idea of who was at fault from shouts and facial expressions. I think it’s a bit harsh on Day to give him too much blame because you kind of expect the man on the post to be dealing with a ball at that height and not let in spin into the near post. A completely farcical goal to concede.

As a defender I was always taught unless the keeper clearly shouts you clear the ball and ask questions afterwards so whilst I see where your coming from I think Grant needs to take responsibility and clear his lines. Either way it's an absolutely awful goal to give away
