Why bring him back, even walked out of Walsall at the first opportunity. One thing I hope are club is not, is a retirement home for ex players and Managers. Why bring him back? Because he has a track record of improving strikers and turning rough diamonds into 20+ goal per season players. Plenty of players have said how much they benefited from his coaching and I think he could improve Hanlan, Daly, Nicholson, Ayunga, etc. etc. I'd have Marcus back in a heartbeat.

Well that was a short stay.. 🤝 The Club can today confirm that goalkeeping coach, David Coles, has left his role with immediate effect due to personal family reasons. #BristolRovers Do we think this is genuinely the reason or is it because Tis got his mate Gwinett (with him at Exeter and MK) in over Xmas? So you are basically accusing the club you support of lying to its fan base? I can't see what they would gain by doing that, can you, as if they'd said he'd simply left I doubt many of us would worry, given that he's only a goalie coach.

Hasn’t Anssi been offered a coaching role ? Bit odd coaching the person you’re in competition with. “Today Joe, we are going to be covering flapping at crosses and how to not vocally command your area”

So does that mean we have no goalkeeper coach now or is Winnett a goalie coach?

If Gwinett was bought in to replace him and he knew he was likely to be on his way in the summer then he would be better off looking elsewhere for a more stable job which would still link in with personal family reasons. It doesn't really matter anyway but find the big hoo ha over my post quite funny.

Given you've posted that the club are basically lying it's hardly surprising there's been a reaction. I can't see Winnit messing about coaching goalies when he's supposed to be PT's right hand man.

Correct. I can't imagine Mr Coles, or our resident Bobby Davro lookalike as the press labeled him, appreciating us attributing his removal to 'family issues' if unfounded.

David Coles posting on Ben Garner's LinkedIn pages full of praise for his former boss's training sessions and how he blended experience and youth. Seems to think it's relegation without him. Perhaps he's no fan of Tisdale? Might explain his sudden departure?

I thought Coles was a bit of a coup when he joined as he is one of the most experienced goalkeeper coaches in the country, having worked at the likes of Southampton, Portsmouth, West Ham United and England under 18s in the past. I also know for a fact he had his eye on the ball regarding up and coming keepers in the Prem academy set ups, the football league, non-league and identified some of the best ones all the way from the National League to the Southern League. As an aside, this is a decent article: bit.ly/3cJWuaa

It’s not a recommendation. You can see it in Cole’s’ activity history but it’s actually a supporter clamouring for Garner to come back. That said Cole’s’ does appear to agree with him.

It may feel like ex employee is slating the club but it also comes across as Garner had a structured training way which was enjoyed by Coles and Tisdale methods are looking to take us down... you can read that as either bitter ex employee taking a swipe or a genuine appreciation for a fellow pro who was totally fed up that a) he had gotten the boot and b) didnt think too highly of the new gaffer.
If it is b then it shows that there is discord in the camp which is certaibly translating onto the pitch and that buck firmly stops at Tisdales and Gwinnetts door.
