Speaking to someone on the terraces last night about JJ. She was talking to someone who worked at Northampton Town. He said that his attitude is poor, he did not put any effort into training, he drank and smoked a lot and felt he was too good for them. He clearly has some talent but is in the Paul Gascoigne lounge awaiting departure!! This has to have been our best decision to get shot as soon as we could. Yep he scored some goals but was so not a team player and was a major part of our relegation. I do hope for Southend United's sake they do not disrupt their team to fit him in if he goes on loan to them. Apparently the local paper in Southend did a poll about wanting him as the evil post did, and 80% did not want him!!
Fair play to DC at least he has given us players who give effort and look good at this standard.

I'd love to see us play against him. Sinclair would tear him to peices.

Nah I agreed with the first half of your post mate, I just feel that as bad as his attitude was John-Joe remains a class above anything we have at the club in terms of technical ability (haven't yet seen LDV) unfortunately. Much as I love Sinclair's attitude I'm not sure he'd look all that much up against JJ in league two.

I disagree, JJ only played well when on loan with us, when we signed the 'one and only' he was rubbish after that, yes he was top scorer in what was a poor side, that aside he himself was very poor all round, Sinclair any day

Sinclair is a better technical footballer than JJ, i really believe that. There isn't a lot of difference between top half of Conf and bottom half of O'Toole and O'Toole is nothing but a lower half L2 midfielder who had a decent scoring record when the team was set up for nothing but him to score. Sinclair's technical ability is actually very good, he's a better tackler, worker, can hold his place in a two man midfield which O'Toole is incapable of doing.

Sinclair would nip in and take the ball before OToole even realized the ball was there. O toole looked ok in a midfield 5 because he wasn't mobile but in any other formation he'd just walk around aimlessly watching the game go by. In terms of keeping the ball how often does Sinclair play a simple pass badly ?- almost never. How often does OToole play inaccurate passes ?- all the time. In most of the games OToole scored in last season he was one of our worst players in terms of everything other than the goals. He had a one off season where he scored double figures but hasn't done that any other time in his career. If he hadn't scored those goals last season he would have been looked back on as one of the worst players to wear the quarters in recent seasons once he'd signed permanently. Poor player poor attitude and just turned up in the right place at the right time to score some goals for a bit that's all.

With you on that, if O'Toole could sort his attitude out he'd be worth a whole lot more to a team higher than he where he is now. I do think we kid ourselves on the ability of some of our current players. Sinclair, who I'm a fan of, is the English football fans wet dream. He runs and runs and runs some more. That's not the only thing he does but his constant battling definitely enhances a lot of fans perception of his game. I'm not criticising him, I love him, he's one of my favourites and adds a lot to our game.

You do the maths. Like him or loathe him he was the only player who scored regularly for us, and scored some very important goals. and before anyone says it, yes I know the stats about his assists, his yellow cards etc.

Gazza has some very, very serious alcohol and mental health issues. And JJoT took up HIS option to leave. Nothing to do with us, or our decision. BTW - I think the best thing about him leaving was his wages. I suspect we may have now got 2 or 3 players for the money.

Jeezuz, surely we can let this go sooner or later? Has he taken Lines and Pipey's place as our new most obsessed over ex-player?
