Yet another predictable and deep well thought out post from you. Really don’t see the reason for your new thread. How’s Chris Lines doing these days, you’ve been rather quiet on him lately? Two assists tonight in a 3-0 win over promotion candidates FGR. Good for him, I thought he might of been to blame for the sending off. |

So he makes an error which he then rectifies by clearing into touch where is the problem. There was no need for LM to do what he did there was cover behind if they had taken a quick throw in. Same with his yellow in the 1st half didn't need to pull the guy back there was plenty of cover. JVS made some decent saves his kicking was a bit off but for someone who hasn't played much that was a decent performance.

Completely disagree with the OP.... JVS had some wayward kicks yes but in the main he did ok tonight - he swept up pretty well on more than a couple of occasions..... it’s obvious the OP did NOT watch the match tonight!

There’s a few here that love to attack players and managers, usually the same specific targets, they appear as soon as we lose, It’s almost as if it’s a self gratification process, quite sad and pathetic really, and they can rarely back up their arguments. |

I thought JVS made some great saves, collected the ball cleanly and caught well.
Kicking....meh.
He wasn't at fault for our loss and up until the goal the whole defence unit looked more solid, especially in the first half where we conceded a few silly free kicks in "the Wigan" area of the pitch and dealt with them easily.
I much prefer JVS handling, things seem to stick when he gets his gloves on them and I hope he gets the gig more often......plus, great hairstyle.

Kicking wasn't great but I'm guessing he got told to put it wide. Shame Williams' header back to him was weak and led to the throw and the red card. Apart from that I think he did fine. Kicking wasn’t great is a bit of an understatement JVS was clearly the last off the production line before the GK union decided to be a footballer you had to have a modicum of talent around at least one FOOT when it’s near the BALL |

I have not seen game so have no idea how complicit JVS was in costing us a point but the general consensus seems that there were many reasons we were unable to convert our superiority into points, i do know that JVS was greatly responsible for us not dropping 2 points v Shrewsbury, so the Term 'useless' is a tad unfair IMHO.

I actually thought his kicking was good first half. A few times we nearly got in from his kicks. Anybody who has played the game will know, that when you are down to 10 men, from goal kicks you need to keep the ball out in the wide areas. Sometimes this means the ball goes out of play (which at least means it's not coming straight back at you down the middle). JVS had a decent game, personally I like keepers that command their box and he has the edge on Day for that. Ansi does it well also.

Fail to see how anyone can blame a goal keeper for last night
Ridiculous original post and one that seems bitter and harsh on a bloke who is 3rd in line.
Made some good saves (which is what he is paid to do)
Beaten by a screamer, even the RAF interceptor squadron would have struggled to get near it
Can't be blamed for the 3 or 4 half chances we didn't convert in the first half
Didn't earn the red card that changed the game.
