Grimsby fan... You really don't understand the FA Trophy yet mate do you!!??
It should be re-named the Season Wrecker Trophy, poop attendances all the way through and 4 or 5 game fixture backlog if you get as far as the Semis!! After seeing that I hope we go out first round.

There would appear to be a large serving of sour grapes in that statement, this first game if the prices are right could attract a decent crowd, from then on its a lottery. i personally would like us to go all out to win it, another trip to Wembley wouldn't go amiss! Don't forget that the season we were promoted, we arguably benefitted from playing in the paint pot trophy in Cardiff before going to Wembley for the play final. Did that big match experience help the players second time around at Wembley?
Play to win and go for it

Play to win and go for it and also it should be remembered that both times we made the ldv/jpt finals we were promoted the same year.... no such thing as mickey mouse (or Donald duck for that matter)....

I'm sure, given the level of opposition we will be facing that Clarke will pick a suitable team. It is a good chance to keep people ticking over. Blisset will benefit from this sort of game as he adjusts to traing full time. Balanta, Trotman, et al will also be able to get some competitive game time under their belts. Perhpas even hand some of the yoof a 20 minute run out at home.
That said, Clarke is a winner......

Personnally I'd of thought the opposite, rest Blisset whilst he adjusts whilst playing the likes of Wall & Harrison who clearly need game time.
Fixture pile up wise given the first two rounds are free weekends for the cup is playing 3 or 4 extra mid week games really going to wreck our season?

We have a big enough squad now to challenge in this trophy as well as the league if we wanted to and if we retained the loan players.
We could play likes of Preston/Puddy, Leadbitter, Trotman, Gosling, Martin, Clarke, Wall and Harisson giving us a decent side and giving some players who haven't had too much first team action recently a chance to get minutes under their belt.

Win the trophy, smash this league. Do it all and go down in history as the greatest team to ever be in the conference.

Bath City won 3-1 tonight.
Would have been great if we'd been drawn away.

Bath City won 3-1 tonight. Would have been great if we'd been drawn away. Why, surely we want the easiest game possible not a tough workout?

I wouldn't be so sure about that unless you know something we don't.
