I have heard that players under contract get a 20?% wage cut for relegation.
Does this apply to other staff/paid directors?
If a player is out of contract and we offer a new deal, presumably we will offer a reduction of more than 20% ie due to relegation and covid?
Most clubs will offer reduced terms with less money and shorter periods ( it is a buyers market). Do you think we will be savvy and offer 6 month contracts to those we want to keep?
Ogogo,(shafted by BG, pre season with the youth team and playing catch up for fitness at the wrong time. A big big miss in our midfield now), Rodman and Davies ( a gamble to have kept as a registered player in mid Jan, but boy could we do with him now) perhaps, together with some of the youngsters on very little wages Hulbert, Warwick, Tomlinson, Hoole etc.

I’d be pretty confident saying that players contracts will be individually written - some may have such clauses most probably won’t. If we are competing for a player with other clubs I don’t think we are likely to get far with requesting such clauses be agreed with the players agent.
With regard to staff I can’t believe for one minute that an administrator, shop assistant or member of the ground staff would be expected to take a huge pay cut if we got relegated. A few redundancies would be likely I’d have thought.
If we did go down I’m sure any contract offers would be more in line with those for the division we play in. Only a player with no other offers on the table is likely to sign a six month deal, even if they did and went on to have a great six months the fans would go mad when they leave as a free agent in the winter transfer window!

Was thinking of coach's and high level staff, TW, TG and MS rather than shop/catering/grounstaff tbh.

Martin Starnes should walk if the club goes down, the man is one of the main reason we are in this mess.
Before joining Rovers his CV was a failing accountant.

Don’t you believe it when it comes to non playing staff. You’d be amazed

That is very true about individual contracts but there is also a club contract which all players sign which sets out bonuses etc and which could also include percentage reductions for relegation. The terms and conditions on the club contract applies to all players.
