Mildenhall 6 didn't do anything wrong and threw the ball out when he could
Lockyer 5 poor passing first half McChrystal 5 poor booking from him against 10 men Parkes 6 tried to increase tempo but too many high balls Brown 5 passed the ball back when in advanced positions - lack of intensity
Gosling 5 Is his place under threat ? Lack of intensity Mansell 5 jogged around no intensity Sinclair 7 played well - intensity in both halves (shame about most of his team mates first half) Monkhouse - 5 Is his place under threat ? Lack of intensity.
Taylor 7 - excellent movement - good first touch, deserved his goal - Man of the Match Wall 5 - strong player - but didn't seem aware of playing give and go !
Subs: Blissett - 6 showed the required intensity Balanta - 6 lovely pass for the first goal - but didn't look very mobile Della Verde - 5 - Tried to be too clever - hope to see more later
DC - 4 - where was he in the first half - was he happy watching the training ground game first half ? Ref - 8 - got most if not all decisions right - including sending off and penalty Welling - 5 played neat footy - imporessed by their captian (33 ?) and black defender (15 ?)

Mildenhall 5 as usual not a lot to do,still seems a bit sluggish since his illness Lockyer 6 Defened well and passed a bit better second half, wouldn't let him take free kicks though Parkes 7 Good all round game, brought the ball out to better effect than just lumping it McChrystal 6 Defended solidly, but silly booking Brown 5 not his usual standard of late Monkhouse 5 in and out game, better second half Sinclair 6 wholehearted as ever, but not as good with the ball today Mansell 6 not as influential today Gosling 4 offered very little Taylor 8 very good game, the only player to perform for all the time he was on the pitch, won and scored the pen Wall 5 strong with not a bad first touch, nothing to really attack in the box first half, better to come i believe
Subs Blisset 7 scored the all important first goal, like him and Taylor together Balanta 6 some nice touches and passes,i have high hopes for this lad, could be quality Della Verde 5 we know what this kid can do,not quite right today
DC 6 made changes when it wasn't working and we won,so job done
Ref 6 not to bad,in fact good compared to some we have had
Welling 4 very average

I am basing my ratings on the over all 90 mins so bear in mind that no one would have got much more than a 4 for the first half.
Mildly 6. Nothing to report.
Brown 5 finally had a bad game (well first 45 at least)
Lockyer 5 passing hit and miss
Parkes 6 thought he played well to be honest
Macca 6 patchy game, but then so did everyone.
Sinclair 6 did ok, but has done much better
Mansell 6 wouldn't have been my MOTM but thats football
Gosling 4 just....no.
Monkhouse 7 one of the few players to play ok in both halves.
Wall 3 strong but looked about as mobile as well...a wall.
Taylor 7 another decent performance and did well to earn the pen.
Balanta 7 looked good and must surely start ahead of Gosling.
Blissett 8 MOTM changed the game. Scored. Looks so good with Taylor that both must start.
LDV 6 did ok.
DC 3 first half 7 second half. If you have to sub players at half time then maybe you shouldn't pick them to start with.
Ref 8. Best we've seen all season
Welling 4 poor

Mildenhall 5 - Didn't have much to do, tried to rush distribution at times and put us under needless pressure
Lockyer 5 - Defended well as always, didn't make much impact going forwards McChrystal 5 - Solid Parkes 6 - Solid and at least tried to get us going in the first half Brown 5 - Not his best game today
Gosling 3 - Less said the better... Mansell 6 - Effective, if unspectacular game Sinclair 7 - Duracell bunny with another tireless performance Monkhouse 6 - Does a job on the wing
Taylor 7 - Good game, great penalty, should have had 2 Wall 4 - Big, strong, nice hold up play, but lacks mobility
Subs:
Blissett 7 - Brings the best out in Taylor. Great pace, movement & an excellent goal (if a little lucky!) Balanta 7 - Can tell he's still lacking fitness but oozes class on the ball compared to most others at this level. Superb assist for Blissett and a few nice crosses/passes Della Verde 5 - Didn't have much time to impact but always looks a threat on the ball
DC 5 - Got initial selection wrong but acted decisively to put it right Ref 8 - One of the better ones we've had and got key decisions right IMO Welling 4 - Meh

Milder hall 6 Not much to do, couple of saves
Lockyer 5.5 Good at defending, going forward leaves a lot to be desired Parkes 7 Solid game, and getting consistent McChrystal 7 Had a good game won everything in the air Brown 5 Not at his best
Gosling 3 Very poor, not in the game Mansell 7 Very good leader had a good game Sinclair 7.5 All over the pitch, again won some balls he had no business winning Monkhouse 6 Becoming more consistent
Taylor 7 Very good movement, would have been MoM if he had taken his chance Wall 5 May need more game time,
Subs Blissett 6.5 Done very well when he came on, Balanta 7 He has got class written all over him, when fit may be our diamond Della Verde 5 Did ok
DC 7 Back him
Ref 7 Got most things right Welling 5

Mildy 6 was not called into action much but never looked like getting beaten when he was called upon. Lockyer 6 defence was the only unit that was consistent in both halves, had his man well marshalled Brown 7 defensively as solid as Locks but offered more going forward Parkes 7.5 if there was any danger he sensed it early and snuffed it out and was making much more sensible decisions when bringing the ball out of defence McChrystal 8 yes it was a silly booking but Christ the bloke had been exemplary up to then. Classily commanding throughout and with that cheeky mid air step over showed he has a lot of character too! My MOTM his assured performance was the platform that allowed us to be more expansive in the second period. Gosling 3 not convincing on the right. One decent shot towards the end of a half he never really got to grips with. Mansell 5 the midfield and forward areas were very much "after The Lord Mayors show" in the first half. Improved after the break. Sinclair 6.5 even the beard had the malaise in the first half, missing tackles and not finding intended targets whether passing or shooting. Luckily you can't keep a good man down and second half it was the Sinclair we are used to albeit helped by having a much less cluttered pitch around him with their captain sent back to the dressing room. Monkhouse 4 lethargic in first half and lucky to escape the half time hook. Second half looked after the ball better and for a ten minute spell when put over on the right was looking more creative and interested. Need more from him. Taylor 6 well shackled in a first half where he looked like he'd left half of his armoury in the tool box. Came alive after the half time talking to and the injection of some fresh blood in attack Wall 5 put in the effort and was probably our best performer in the forward areas as he looked after possession but showed rustiness and an understandable hesitancy in anticipating what his teammates would do. A few training sessions together will help but the Wrexham game comes too soon for that, so Bliss and Tayls start up front for me in that game.
Balanta 7 worked out how to avoid being nullified by playing between Welling's two banks of four and instantly had more success than Gosling, was the badly needed creative spark. Blissett 7 instantly offered more threat and options to the forward line Della Verde 6 a cameo against ten men in which he was always going to enjoy himself, main thing is he is fresh for Wrexham!
DC 6. I understand the reasons for the starting line up changes with the games coming thick and fast and you can't deny that he got the substitutions spot on. I'd rather have played our strongest line up, got the win secured and then rested some of the starters with early substitutions Ref 6 tempted to give him more because he was so much better than his peers but in all honesty he was average. Crowd 5 mirrored the team. Welling 3 apart from Healy, who I thought showed a lot of promise in their rare forays into our half, they just parked the bus.

Mildenhall 6 Distribution is poor at times.
Lockyer 6 Solid in Defence, needs a bit more composure before he releases the ball. McChrystal 6.5 Very solid at the back Parkes 7 All round game improving. Brown 6 Good defending, but final ball need's improving.
Gosling 3 Playing him on the wrong side is madness. Mansell 6.5 Workmanlike. Sinclair 7 He's here,he's there,he's everywhere. Monkhouse 6.5 settling into his role more.
Taylor 7 again great movement, unlucky with his chance as he did everything right, it was just a great save. Lovely penalty. Wall. 5 Found it hard going ,but hopefully will build more understanding with more game time.
Subs: Blissett 7 Caused Welling problems from the moment he came on with his robust style.Took his goal well. Balanta 7 Love the way he just floats into pockets of space.Class act. Della Verde 6 Some nice trickery and crosses put in.
DC 6.5 Got his tactics wrong first half, but credit for changing the system around twice. Ref 8 I actually witnessed a good ref for once. Welling 6 Played some neat possession at times, but nothing going forward.

Mildenhall - 6 - Only had basic stuff to do but did them well. Better distribution. Lockyer - 5 - I think I say the same about him every time. Solid defensively, poor distribution. Parkes - 6 - Solid but unspectacular. Passing improved as the game went on. McChrystal - 6 - Played well but a silly booking to pick up. Brown - 6 - Quiet game by his standards but can't remember him doing much wrong except a dodgy pass to Mildenhall in the first half. Gosling - 4 - Poor game. Tracked back well but did nothing attacking wise like a winger should. Mansell - 7 - Kept the game ticking over. Should be captain with his organising. Sinclair - 7 - Pretty poor first half by his standards but was good after the break. Won tackles he had no right to. Monkhouse - 6 - Like Parkes, solid but unspectacular. Taylor - 7 - Lots of running causing problems for the Welling defence and took his penalty well. Wall - 5 - Held the ball up well at times but didn't really affect the game.
Blissett - 7 - Big, strong and didn't give the defence a breather. Goal was bit lucky but he deserved it. Balanta - 7 - Lacking fitness but some lovely bits of play. Potential to be one of the best in the Conference. Della Verde - 6 - Some great touches and caused problems with his pace. Sometimes tried to do a bit too much.
Clarke - 5 - Poor choice with the starting XI but changed it round early enough for us to win the game comfortably. Referee - 8 - Got all the big calls right and tried to let the game flow. Welling - 6 - Kept the ball and their shape well but seemed to lack ideas when they got to our box.
