When we last beat Sunderland, Charlton or Doncaster, plus Ipswich have already beaten us twice this season, it's hard to see where we're going to get the 16/18 pts from if we don't get 6 from the Northampton and Swindon games. We've taken 4 points from our last 2 games against Sunderland. The thing is come the last few games of the season there are always strange results, I'm sure not many Rochdale fans were expecting three points today I just can't see us beating Sunderland, who finally seem to have hit promotion form under Johnson, unless he bottles it yet again at the death. Pompey must be the only top 6/bottom 6 side we've managed to beat this season.

12 to go Half of the games are against teams in the top 8 Lincoln Sunderland Doncaster Ipswich Pompey Doncaster 4 are against mid table Blackpool Crewe Mk dons Plymouth 2 against our relegation rivals Northampton Swinedon On paper it looks daunting, we will have to perform well against good sides whilst hoping we catch those 4 mid table teams with their flip flops on I think it will go to the wire for us. personally think that playing the teams pushing for promotion will be a better chance of getting points apposed to the teams around us as we look very nervous against our relegation rivals. Mid table teams are waiting for their holidays so hopefully they won't have the fire in their bellies! All that aside if we don't beat Swindon and Northampton then we deserve to go down because we can't say we haven't had our chance to beat the teams around us! In fact have we picked up any points against our relegation rivals this season apart from Northampton at home? At the start of the season yes - We didn’t lose a game under Garner against anyone in the bottom 10. It was Tisdale that started that trend...

We won’t need 18 points 16 will be enough, in fact 14 would probably do it as I think 48 will be enough this year. So no problem 👍. Why won't 50+ be required? With so many bottom 6 teams playing which other they could well boost the points, there's a win rather than a draw, Rochdale beating Lincoln has already added 3 extra pts to the totals required. I bow to your superior knowledge oh great forum leader, we’ll see Tops we’ll see.

We just did not look convincing today, aside from a 10/15 spell at the beginning of the second half. Baldwin, Westbrooke & Rodman were all particularly impressive, with Joe Day making some very important stops late on. McCormick just didn’t get going & our luck summed up that some very decent chances fell his way on various occasions when the lad is so desperately poor in front of goal. Wimbledon’s deep line didn’t allow Jonah to turn and get in behind like Tuesday night although looked very good in flashes. The moment Alex Rodman departed and we had to switch to 442 was a turning point and not for the better. Hanlan came on and was absolutely useless, in what I was led to believe was his more usual position of wide of a front 3?
The importance of taking a lead was never more apparent today, with that final 10mins of hanging on for dear life. The pressure on the defence is enormous whilst the game stays level and we continue to fail or take good chances throughout.

Positives, rare clean sheet, Lester did not score, reckon a couple weeks ago we would have thrown that game away near the end, and though we have 6 games v play off chasing sides we have taken points off 3 of the 4 of those teams we have played and after Tuesday it will be 4 from 5!

I think 48 points could keeps us up this season, I don't care how we find 14 points from the 12 games we have left as long as we do it.

The problem was caused by having to move Westbrooke and Nicholson out wide just as both were really starting to make things happen in the final 3rd. It’s a shame Hare wasn’t on the bench.

That was a bit of disappointing result.... when we came out 2nd half I thought we were bright and was going to go on and win it but we then seem to fade after Rodders went off injured.... As the game wore on in the last 10 it was Wimbledon in the ascendancy but luckily Day pulled of some great saves.... a win was preferential but at least we didn’t lose.... we really need to grab a win Tues if we don’t want to get sucked back into the bottom 4 and mire...According to these stats the last time we won at the Valley was in 1929!!! www.11v11.com/teams/charlton-athletic/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Bristol%20Rovers/Think it was 1958 we last won there. Certainly not seen a win there in my supporting days - plenty of defeats sadly.

That modern day transition from defence into attack. Hanlan hugged that touch line like his life depended on it.

Whatever the target is we'll still have to win games to reach it, our strike force is so inconsistent it's impossible to know when, or even if, it'll turn up, v Pompey, Shrewsbury and Accy it was fantastic, in the other games since JB took over simply failed to turn up. I'm not sure why posting continue to criticise Hanlan as I can't see Ayunga or Nicko scoring enough goals to keep us up, we just have to hope Hanlan finds his form PDQ. Plus Rodman's injury is only a minor one.

Nothing to fear from the fixtures themselves. Rochdale won at Lincoln today. We’re perfectly capable of getting good results against the better teams. This season is a war of attrition and keeping our key players fit might be the biggest challenge.

Think it was 1958 we last won there. Certainly not seen a win there in my supporting days - plenty of defeats sadly. Seen us play them away at The Valley, Selhurst Park and Upton Park and never win at any of them, since they’ve played us at Eastville, Twerton and The Mem this must be up there as one of the head to head confrontations involving the most home grounds? Brighton might’ve topped it but I don’t think we played them when they were exiled at Gillingham so I think they equal it.

When it’s so close and there’s no clear candidates yet to go down unlike previous seasons it will be fewer points needed to stay up. Probably 49, perhaps 48. Pretty sure the bottom club will have more than the bottom team usually have but the 21st team will have less than some seasons. UTG!

Even with my bias Gas hat on it looks like the relegation fight could go to the wire, if we beat Plymuff on Saturday and that becomes their 6(?) consecutive loss we could drag them into the relegation fight, although lose and they'll probably be safe. 18 Plymouth 46 -12 49 19 Bristol Rovers 46 -19 49 20 AFC Wimbledon 46 -24 46 21 Rochdale 46 -21 45 22 Northampton 46 -21 42 23 Swindon 46 -24 40 24 Wigan 46 -23 39 Anybody else bored tonight/this weekend then the League 1 predictor can be found on the following link: thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?Competition=3
