Yes agree with this ....maybe one win and two draws. Awful assembled group ...I can’t say team .... who don't give a toss ( Williams laughing with an old chum after the Plymouth game just reaffirms this) ..no craft, no endeavour , no guile , little effort, just a bunch of clueless idle tossers. I will take whatever outcome and just want JB to clear out this crap and build his own team, if it’s in L2 so be it. Widdrington and Starnes can go as well...! would happily go on G20Man show and call them both out as root cause for this tripe.

It wasn't that long ago you suggested JCH should never be allowed to play for the club after me missed his second pen at Pompey.

I'm not looking past Tuesday. Lose that and I think it's curtains Agreed lose that and we could just sink, win and the players might get some confidence they can stay up, although the way this season's gone it'll probably end in a draw. Relegation wise Tuesday's game could be the most important since the Mansfield draw. At least Day and possibly Jaakola will return plus surely Grant can't be that far away from returning?

Swindon will be on a high after Saturday ... Twine and Pitman are a real goal threat. we have Jonah .... and not much else. Would start Oztumer ahead of Westbrooke possibly.

10 games to go, 30 points up for grabs. These are our final 10 fixtures remaining and their current league position.
Home vs Swindon (19th)
Home vs Sunderland (3rd)
Away vs Ipswich (9th - 2 points away from the play offs)
Home vs Doncaster (5th)
Away vs Northampton (22nd)
Home vs Lincoln (4th)
Home vs MK Dons (13th - 5 points away from the play offs)
Away vs Portsmouth (7th - 1 point away from the play offs)
Home vs Crewe (14th - 5 points away from the play offs)
Away vs Blackpool (10th - 3 points away from the play offs)
So our challenge is:
2 teams fighting for survival with us 5 teams chasing a play off spot
3 teams currently in the play offs chasing a top 2 spot
Surely we won't lose all 10 but I have no confidence for any of these games.
How many points do you think we will get and where will we get them?
Think I will end up with more points on my driving license.

Being a glass half full type, someone who always tries to look on the bright side and an eternal optimist I’m going to go for two points. I was going to say one point but I let my heart rule my head.

Based on what we’ve done season to date and what we’ve “achieved” under St. Joey, a point per game would be an improvement...I can’t see any hope for improvement so 9 points.

I’ve got us down for 2 wins and 3 draws for 9 points, and even then I think I’m being a bit optimistic.

I still think we’ll be fine. Not thinking beyond Tuesday. Concentrate and get a win and then it’s the next match. UTG!

I can't see any of the current bottom 6 reaching 50. I think we need 12-14 points to be safe, hate to guess how many we will get though. MUST win on Tuesday.

With the bottom six currently on very few points it could be one those seasons where a lower points tally could prove safe.
Past twenty seasons 21st position (so we need to at least better it on goal difference):
18/19: 50pts, goal difference -24 17/18: 50 -17 16/17: 49 -25 15/16: 46 -16 14/15: 50 -18 13/14: 47 -27 12/13: 48 -24 11/12: 43 -23 10/11- 47 -18 (we were relegated with 45pts -34 goal diff) 09/10: 50 -16 08/09: 49 -4 07/08: 48 -10 06/07: 47 -8 05/06: 50 -15 04/05: 51 -24 03/04: 50 -26 02/03: 48 -15 01/02: 44 -15 00/01: 51 -4 (the year we were relegated with the best return) 99/00: 44 -22

I think we need to assume we will loose all four away games. Lets be realistic, our away record is dreadful and Charlton aside, we just don't score any, let alone enough to pick up any points. Our home form has picked up lately but we still cant beat those teams around us so we may have to settle for a draw against Swindon. Sunderland are on form so will probably beat us. I wouldn't rule out getting anything against Lincoln or Doncaster. That leaves us having to beat MK Dons and Crewe.
Two wins and maybe a couple of draws so eight more points. I am being pessimistic of course so if we can turn one more of those defeats into a win that'll get us 11 points which would take it down to the wire.
As others have said, we cannot look past tomorrows game. Loose that and I don't think we would be able to recover.

That's mad our GD was only -4 in 2001. I see that was matched one other time in that list. Has anyone ever been relegated with a positive GD?

Not necessarily the full list but Man City were relegated from the top tier in 1938 (+3) and Sheffield United from the old Third Division in 1981 (+2)....it doesn't seem like a long list though for obvious reasons

I don't think we'll need 50 points, for that to be the case 4 of the others would have to get a minimum of 15 points each, I really cant see that happening. We have the ability to get results against sides we maybe haven't expected to and 10 points from the last 5 home games has given me some hope. No predictions as I have absolutely no idea just praying we can somehow scrape another 11 or 12 points together.

Posted this in the '10 to go' thread: We are very poor, but the table shows that there are 5 others teams just, or very nearly, as poor. We've taken 4 points from the last 5 games. Swindon have taken 3, Wigan and Northampton 7points, Wimbledon and Rochdale 4points like us. We're all as bad as each other it seems. IF we are to get out of this we must take 3 points on Tuesday v Swindon and against Northampton in a few weeks too. Our ten games to save ourselves: March. Swindon H - MUST WIN Sunderland H - can't see anything other than a defeat. There is no Craig effect this season, sadly. April Ipswich A - no repeat of GC's last game - Defeat Doncaster H - we have to find a way to get at least a point Northampton A - MUST WIN Lincoln H - comment as for Donny MK Dons H - ditto Pompey A - Defeat as Pompey under their new Manager duo push for the playoffs May Crewe H - hopefully Crewe will be on their holidays and three points will come our way Blackpool A - ditto re holidays for them, unless they are still in with a shout of the playoffs, can't see any points though. So that's 12 points maximum, more likely 9 or 10. Will that be enough? ?
