Good news. Exciting times for Weston fans. Could enable the club to really push on to the next level and even have an attempt at getting into the football league in the future, why not aim high?
Credit to the owner Paul Bliss and family who have been involved with the club for over 30 years and has funded the club to the tune of over £100,000 a year in that time.

Fair play to WSM. I've never watched them play or particularly followed them, but it's nice to see local non league clubs do well, so I wish them all the best...for as long as they stay below the Gas!

Really excited to see this. I've watched a few of their matches over the last few years, a very friendly and welcoming club, as well as being local to me in Somerset. Hopefully this will be the start of a really successful time for them.

We could ground share with them, during the Mem rebuild. I’ve probably said too much.

Nice been down there a few times to play junior sides with my sons team
Very welcoming facility the bar etc is a bit dated now so this is very exciting for the town
The actual site is huge so lots of scope to put these plans to fruition
Good luck to them

I can remember all 3 of their grounds.
My brother used to play for them in the 70's when Rovers own Dave Stone was their manager.
My late Granddad was a member of their social club and often slipped me a crafty half of Courage Best when I was only 16.

York City new stadium. Looks nice but I’m sad to have seen Bootham Crescent go. A proper old fashioned ground right in the heart of the place.

I agree. Stadiums were once a symbol of civic pride but are now seen as both a transport and potential disorder problem pushing them to the periphery of a city. For me it was one of the disappointments of the UWE location (plus the overtly functional appearance of the design) and the opposite of the potential of the FM site.

I live in Weston and this will be for not only good the for football club but the local community as well.Loads of new houses already been built in the area with the development of Haywood Village. If you have not passed through this area of Weston for a while you would not recognise it. Not my 2nd club but I do go and watch Weston a few times a season , great little club to be honest

The best things about UWE for me was it was going to be a new build so no relocation unlike the Mem rebuild, and it was close to where I live. But I could also appreciate the 'soulless bowl and remote' arguments. At the moment I'd be happy with an artist impression, just something vaguely good news. 😶

Amen to that, I'm easily pleased though.
