I don't know if was covid-restrictions, worst performing team in a long time, the sliding door of managers or my antipathy to the Barton appointment and the scouse invasion but I feel less connect with the club I've followed for nearly 60 years than ever before. Always sad when you get that feeling a long relationship is near breaking point. Ditto but it has given me the opportunity to find other things that bring me happiness and don’t alter my mood over an entire weekend. It’s been a good thing on a personal level but also sad in that I have now lost the very close connection to the club

Being positive and Bristol rovers do not go together I am afraid to say Blimey. Whatever happened to the Twerton spirit?

Do not despair, remember you only hear the voice of those who shout the loudest but though they bluster and huff and puff they are very much in the minority and will be drowned out by the quieter more reasoned huge majority! I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Some of the dissenting voices may be right. Reason is the only sensible position to hold. Which only ever earns pelters from both sides.

I’m positive every season
I still have a club to support and look forward to dusting down my old Rovers tops and catching up with family and old faces. I love a cold cider and meeting away fans in the bar before kick off
Let’s face it, we don’t support our team in the hope of a champions league spot or winning the FA cup.
Sure we’d all love a successful campaign but being part of a gashead is to see humour in our mediocrity, to be proud of our shirt and of ourselves for doing it every year!!
Can’t wait to get back behind the goal, laughing at people again and hearing our famous song underneath the Thatchers roof. Got a feeling the energy and passion is going to be positive across sport in general after the year we’ve all had.
UTG

Reading the posts and the threads the last few days makes me feel a little sad. I 100% respect everyone's opinion and that goes without saying. We have a great opportunity of winning the league next season, (The Bookies are very rarely wrong!!!). How many clubs can say that they have won their league, Prem, or Grass roots. Good foundations with Owner, Manager. Agree Stadium and squad not fit for purpose, but I hope with Joey and Wael we will start a Journey. Its another story with the Academy and some Coaching staff buts that's for another day and if Joey and Wael are together with it, that will be sorted. JUST UTG, Looking forward to being back in the Blackthorn ( I know Thatchers stuff) Why not? Be ground-breaking. My sort of post.

I’d be interested to hear .

The love will return I took less of an interest shortly after I got married and started a family, still looked out for the results and tried to follow when I could. It took relegation to the Conference to realise how much I really cared. The love will return.

Therapist on local Radio said this morning that a study of Nuns over a period of 70 years proves that positive Nuns on average live ten years longer than those who are negative!!!!! Make of that what you will.So being positive will extend your life and hopefully you will live long enough to see the new stadium.
