"Only if they stay up". An even bigger scoop than it seemed originally.

I really like him, lots of ability. Can link play or run in behind and a good finisher with either foot. Manchester United academy player of the year and played numerous games for them in the Prem, scoring a few goals. Other higher level experience having played in the Championship and Scottish Prem. If DC can keep him clear of injuries I think that could be an interesting piece of business and in the right team could be prolific. I wasn't asking you. 😝

Imo, both signings would be more than good enough to play in Div 2

If Hanlan can get his confidence back and start scoring again like he did under Garner, with Nicholson and Collins in a three pronged attack, keep them fit they could give defences in league two and really torrid time. Collins could be a crucial signing for us. I presume Saunders along with Ayunga would be back up. Still need at least one more quality wide player though

To be fair to Saunders his figures look different at Fleetwood if you distinguish between starts and cameo sub appearances when replacing Evans or Madden for the last few minutes…. view 1 is three goals in 27 appearances view 2 is three goals in 6 starts and 21 sub appearances. so probably not super sub material but then neither were Harrison or Bodin in reality.

Assuming he wasn't injured the fact that he couldn't get into an NL side hardly sounds promising, I hope JB's signing players who can do a job for us next season rather than just his mates

As things stand, on paper, our strike force looks just as (un)impressive as it did last summer, surely JB can find a striker who's recently scored 15+ goals in a season?

I mentioned a while ago that I thought we should look to try to sign him. He reminds me a bit of the swagger that "Paul, Paul, Paul Randall whose the greatest of them all" had about him . As I said previously, needs to score more goals.

I'm wondering if JB as a manager is an attraction or a disadvantage in tempting potential players.

Well yes it does look as unimpressive because there’s even less of them! last season - Hanlan, Ayunga, JML (for a bit), Daly, Phillips, Hulbert, Warwick. as things stand - Hanlan, Ayunga, Phillips, Hulbert. if these two join then we get some pace with Saunders, and some no.10 experience at the level we now find ourselves in. The 15 goal a season man probably won’t have either of those attributes. Someone earlier in the summer stated Pitman was coming, others have suggested Akinde or Norwood or Hilton. It may be one of them or someone else but those guys are all going to have more than one offer on the table and is likely to take their time making the decision….perhaps waiting until at least the army camp hard yards week is out the way!!!!

I’ll wait until they are fully signed up before saying too much but from looking at what other teams in League 2 (and League 1) are doing there doesn’t seem to be many out and out scorers being signed up. Several strikers being signed but none with a great scoring record. Hope, Judge, Nouble, Hawkins and Angol have all signed as forwards (perhaps Judge more a MF) in the last few days and are decent players but probably won’t get 15-20 goals. But there’s always a first time I guess. My point is those who can score 15-20 might need a fee to secure them and the players may well be waiting a week or so for the best offer. But having (if it’s the case that they have signed or will sign) got this pair perhaps that takes the pressure off a bit knowing we have them and JB will still be looking for that “star striker” in the last few weeks of the window. Time will tell. UTG!

Ok Tops why don’t you do your research. Compile a list of all strikers that scored 15+ across the top 7 leagues in England. Then the rest of us will comment on what we think their transfer fee would be and likely wages….. GO!
