It's now 11:23 and there has still been no amendment of the obvious inaccuracies in the club statement.... Who is in charge of Comms? Good question! Suspect it sits in TG’s remit day to day, but this has to be a board collective response surely? That includes Chris Gibson I assume, brought in for his leadership skills (high standards of integrity must be part of that) and to act as voice of the fans. They really should only be thinking about the club reputation right now and call in a crisis management expert. This isn’t something a comms team should be expected to handle and doubt the board has experience to deal with this

Absolutely fuming about this now, this is what I meant when I talked about reputational damage from backing JB but the club have gone even further than I had feared, not only have they backed the man but they've insulted any victim of domestic violence whether that be in the past or the future!😡

Can't see it making the slightest bit of difference. Fans turn up to see the lads in the Quarters not the Manager. But if you turn up to support the lads in the quarters then you are effectively also supporting JB unless you wear a T shirt with "JB out!" written on it That's not true. For me anyway. Garner was crap but I still turned up to give support to the team. In fact, isn't it about now the fans showed what they're about and turned up to cheer them on?

So after a pretty severe social media backlash that I'm sure they're aware of its neither been amended or removed. This makes one think that no mistakes were made in the choice of words, and they're standing by it.... Extremely disappointed would be an understatement....

Whilst i disagree the way the club has handled this dreadful situation, the answer is not to boycott games. This issue needs to be sorted between the board and JB , not at this stage by us or take our clear frustartions out on the players. we said last season that the team missed playing in front of a crowd and i just dont see how not turning up will help anything. At the end of the day this is a legal situation which is not being handled on the club side by WAQ or TG but the clubs legal advisors. Personally i would not be suprised that JB's few days with his family is actaully time where the club are palnning an exit startegy and agreement. If the case then not a lot more will be said as to not jeopordise any conversation. But then again what do i or any of us know!

There is a difference in a official club statement on an official club website and opinions on a unofficial forum (the official one was closed by the club) If you are happy with the clubs statement that's fine and I respect that, but others are not and their opinions should matter to the club. Not happy with it at all, the kn*bhead should be sacked Another Trust Pilot review of the Shop?

A lot of people, including many long term ST holders, feel this situation has crossed a line and simply aren't comfortable supporting the current football management. It's a really sad state of affairs. I'm sure there are people excited to get back to the Mem tonight, but judging from the comments I'm seeing on different platforms, it's clear many aren't and are finding it very difficult to get behind the manager and club. The absurd statement last night will have made the mind up for a lot of us I suspect.

Maybe there is a meeting taking place today involving board, staff and players in regards to the situation and we will find out more later in the day

The way I see it is innocent until proven guilty, in which case if he’s proven guilty we’ve got no choice but to terminate his contract.

I will be very surprised if we see JB again at the Mem unless he is in the 'Away' dugout.

The problem is this issue is hanging over JB (along with his other trial) and the club. It's a very serious charge. Suspending an individual doesn't equate to judgement of guilt, it's recognising it isn't appropriate for them to continue whilst legal proceedings are underway.

In the original exchange with Tilly, Jocks post was quoted not mine. In any event it doesnt matter. I was being deliberately provocative to challenge priorities when children are involved. I was a little disappointed with the patronising use of "poor dear" though.😉But we digress, the statement put out by the club is a disgrace. By suggesting this is a "victimless" charge, a statement made quite deliberately or in stunning ignorance, has sent a terrible message to our younger fans. Sorry, was that me? My post was meant as a bit of light relief, certainly not as a dig at you.
