I enjoy almost the whole football experience, especially away from home. The travel, the early pint, the greasy food, the banter with away fans, the match itself, the evening reading Gaschat. It's just a simple feel-good day out. Just spoiled on one or two occasions still by foul mouthed aging hooligans, who prefer to swear and intimidate and embarrass and behave like animals, rather than enjoying what should be a nice traditional sporting event for ordinary people. Why can't the club do something about it? Would it be that hard to take our own stewards who could identify the trouble makers and ban them from future away games, what's the betting it's the same dozen or so fans who are the ring leaders every away match?

Do Avon & Somerset constabulary still have spotters? They used to travel to away matches where there was likely to be trouble.

There is a small section of vocal Rovers fans who are basically the scum of the earth and I too would hesitate to bring my kids anywhere close to them. I'm embarrassed to share the same city as these people, let alone the same seating area. That being said, they are far outweighed by the admittedly much less vocal)decent supporters which follow the club.
I had a mate who went to Mansfield and he said there were kick-offs all over the shop following the match. It sounds like our lot didn't far too well as it happens.

Iām sure back in the 90s they used to have our own stewards for the away end at Ashton Gate and vice versa, so doable, but that was probably more about reducing tensions etc.
