Pretty sure Covid is still putting some people off going to large gatherings, think 7000 + was decent considering. I thought it was quite poor myself. Covid might have put a few off (not convinced that many) but for me it illustrates the mood around the club currently. Under different circumstances we would have been pushing around the 10k mark. I agree. Covid would have put I would say, 500 off Max as not going for 18 months would have got people's blood pumping and wanting to go. Yesterday s low gate was due to last season, the two opening defeats and Barton effect.

Was that 7077 that turned up or 7077 tickets that were bought? (including season tickets) I know a couple that had tickets but did not go and I believe I saw a story or two on here about fans having tickets but Covid prevented them from attending? I got a season ticket but couldn't make it, tried giving my ticket away on here for free but couldn't even give it away! 😅

I know 5 people unable to attend due to having COVID or being restricted due to Covid. That’s without actually speaking to anyone. I would suggest quite a high number of people physically unable to attend let alone those who are wary of going!

Six difference to a stato like me need correct figure. Will email Dave Sams at club he gave 2409 for Cheltenham cup tie.

Bradford 17,600 showing that initiatives can work and Swindon fans showing their support of their new regime with 9,500 Aside from the new regime do you think Swindle would have got that criwd if they had lost their first game ?

Thats like asking if our attendance would of been affected if we won at Mansfield.... In my opinion it wouldn't have changed much.....

Winning games boosts crowds but Swindon's crowd was larger than you would normally expect from them driven no doubt by the fans wanting to show support after almost losing their club.

Less than 7,000 gasheads attending the first home league game of the season and the first opportunity to attend in 18 months is disappointing. I’m have a feeling it’s a combination of Covid and our appalling facilities. I think Covid would have less of an impact if we didn’t have to endure the insanitary conditions at the Mem. So I believe our attendances maybe affected more than at other clubs

I was surprised when I saw the attendance. Felt busier than that. I know Stevenage won't have helped, but it's a bit disappointing I wonder if that is just tickets sold or people in attendance? Because at about 14:55 the North Terrace gates were opened so everyone still queuing could flood in without going via the turnstiles... not sure if they would have been counted or how many fans that would be (10s rather than 100s)
