This is part of the trouble, the season wasn't lost just over 46 lots of 90 minutes on the pitch. It was also about the cr*p going on behind the scenes for the 273 days that the season lasted... Good point, I understand what he meant, now. I think we all sort of got there in the end. TBH I just stuck the dates of the first game and last game in the net to work out how long in days the season was. Then my eye was caught by the equivalent in seconds (over 2 million), minutes etc, and it looked interesting to think of it like that. We may not have been in the rele zone for long, but in our hearts we were there ages before (there is a song in there somewhere...) and whilst going down on GD (AND a GD of only -11), with 50 points, was highly unusual, it was also negligent in it's own way.

Excellent post. I've been going for 52 years and this is the lowest point.im struggling to go to games as its so boring. My 3 kids have lost interest as have lots of mates. The club I love is slowly dieing. The admin and organisation is a shambles. The stadium is a disgrace. I could go on but what's the point? I think that sums up the root of the problem. Gasheads both young and old are losing interest. That saddens me and makes me fear for the future of our club. The old fighting spirit has deserted us. The question is, how do we get that back?

Having a manager that unites, takes responsibility and isn't obsessed with self preservation would be a good start. We'll never achieve a positive and united environment whilst Barton remains at the club.

Then that changes everything, people get on board , people jump on the bandwagon . It’s ALL about winning games , always has been , always will be. sh** hits the fan when we lose , like all clubs.

Generally speaking you're right. In Barton's case I'm not so sure actually. Off the field matters (plus his general conduct in the role) have crossed a red line for many who've made it clear they won't return regardless of results.

I begrudgingly went to the Stevenage game because my boys wanted to go but as they have now gone back to Uni/ moved to London I certainly won't be going to watch until Barton has gone. Over the years we have all had our say about managers and how poor they were (who can forget the Buckle era!!) but we still kept supporting the club. It is different now. The club insists on keeping this evil man in place, dividing the fan base, spouting absolute garbage every press conference and risking bringing the club into shame with his upcoming court cases -innocent until till proved guilty? .....this is Joey Barton we are talking about! A man whose track record speaks volumes...Always pleaded 'Not Guilty'.....always found out to be a liar, bully and thug and found 'Guilty. Has he changed? Has he *! Wael needs to read this forum and see the way the club is falling apart and do something to stop the rot. I genuinely believe he cares about us but I also believe he has been so badly advised.

I respect that you wanted to spend quality time with your boys, but your moral outrage at the thug, bully and liar didn't really stand up to scrutiny. It's like someone on hunger strike having a slap up grill because they've got a mate round. Sadly, I think Yatton is right and that most fans will find a reason to suddenly accept JB if and when he starts winning games.

Pretty sure we're allowed to go to whichever matches we want and eat what we want. Your moral outrage at someone going to a football match doesn't stand up to scrutiny. It's perfectly possible to think JB is a lady garden and go a match, it's perfectly possible to love the bloke and not go. Nothing to do with whatever moral framework you choose to put on it.

Sadly, I think Yatton is right and that most fans will find a reason to suddenly accept JB if and when he starts winning games. You are wrong. I will not be going again until he has gone. I only went before because of pressure from my wife ('Go on, take the boys to football, they'll be moving away soon' etc) but if you think I am going to travel 80+ miles to see a convicted thug ruin our team you are very much mistaken. All my Rovers shirts, jackets, ties, scarves etc. are all packed away in a bag at the back of my wardrobe. I have been a ST holder for a few years now but I refused to renew it this year and for one reason only...JB. Look at the number of posts on here that show how much he is hated and the division he has caused. Managers always divide opinion but no-one has ever divided our club the way he has. In all my years of supporting the Gas (over 50) i have NEVER heard of anyone saying they were going to not go and watch them because they didn't like the manager...until now. I hope he does turn it around and gets the team winning games (I still want Rovers to one day get into the Championship League) I still want the best for the players, the fans, the owner but we have a divided club until this evil man has departed (hopefully in November when he goes behind bars where he belongs).

I'm not morally outraged. I don't give a f**k who goes to games and who doesn't and why. The post I quoted said they would not attend games because Barton is a bad man. Except the games they will attend. Just noting the dissonance in that.

To go to a match to hear people applauding/cheering him would be too much to bear. I will still follow Rovers from a distance but not whilst that twat is there. Hopefully he will have gone long before Christmas. All the JB lovers can see if they can visit him in Horfield Prison at Christmas!

It's not about who's in the dugout, it's about the lads in the shirts. Bit sad you're deserting the Club because of one person.
