What do you think will help his career more, working closely with Clarke and Pitman and learning from them or getting game time at Dorchester? I'm split.

What about the other development players?
Ward is in the squad,Jones is in the cup squad,
Hoole, Huilbert, Tomlinson, Heal and Martinez are injured, but Budd, Murray and Mehew surely should be on loan somewhere, as I heard the development team has been scrapped by JB.

Not sure re the 3 players you mentioned but it isn’t JB who’s scrapped the development squad - we still have one but COVID has decimated the development league and so because of lack of fixtures we are only able to play friendlies…. That’s my understanding. JB can be at fault for some things but I don’t believe this is one of them Re Kieran Phillips - what a cracking debut and I understand that he will still be training part time with us alongside training and playing with Dorchester….

I've looked after a couple of U23s who have been loaned to various non league outfits including Dorchester. They train with Rovers during the week, but also attend their loanee clubs' training sessions a couple of evenings a week, which means some horrendous traveling for them.

Fair play to you mate - I guess the horrendous travelling can kind of work in a way of testing dedication and desire to be successful and make it as a pro? Although can imagine it can be quite challenging for them…. Assume that’s why clubs tend to look as local as possible for loans for the development players….

Well done Kieran Phillips, debut and first half brace for a 2-0 win for Dorchester Town. Phillips had a week at Hibs prior to going on loan at Dorchester, scored up there too for their u23s the lad clearly knows where the onion bag is and is prepared to go to ends of the earth to prove it ! 19 years old , fit as a flea, he’s done it at every level so far, he’s made his first team debut already under Garner , drew a penalty which Leahy subsequently missed ……. what’s Barton afraid of? We might starting goals and ruin his plan to get sacked ?! about time we blooded the youth we’ve invested in or maybe we should have just taken the £100k Southampton offered for him three years ago !

Lets hope he keeps getting starts. Dorchester have signed two more strikers in the last 8 days Good challenge for him. One of the latest signings is Alfie Stanley who was unlucky to be released by Portsmouth. Scored 26 goals in his last season for U18s. One I would have trialled at Rovers and considered for development squad.
