I agree someone along those lines is probably our best hope. If we stick with Barton I feel pretty sure we’ll go down again and forget any “ names “ like Ardilies who don’t know the lower divisions. What we need is a strong character who knows what it takes.

I've been thinking a lot about the original question this week. Like, a lot. I have come to the conclusion that I honestly believe we would be better off if Barton was replaced by an effigy of Paul Gascoigne. Those charmed by cheeky celebrity, both players and fans, would still keep that connection, and there wouldn't be any naughty business as its not the real Paul Gascoigne (its just a representation of him). The game plan probably wouldn't change much but the players would probably play themselves in their correct positions which would be an improvement. Most of all I wouldnt have to listen to it tell me we are going to be promoted after being handed our asses week in week out by Bovril teams from the past (I am aware we are one). Gets my vote anyway.

When, if we do....Graham Westley are you sure! Hasn’t managed seriously for a long time. Last time out at Newport they were points adrift at the bottom and Michael Flynn was left to rescue them with a miraculous run. Before that lasted at Barnet a few months. No thanks!! UTG!

Pulis with Tony Craig as his protégé.
No doubt they would get the defensive organisation to improve

It may be a long shot but I think we could do worse than look to Ireland for managers.
Ruaidhrí Higgins is managing Derry, his boyhood club (which could be an issue) but they'd be 2nd if the table started from his tenure. I'd wager we pay an awful lot more than Derry City do. Mark McCrystal is also at Derry, we could do a lot worse than having him back at Rovers.
Stephen Bradley is Shamrock Rovers manager and they're going to win the league, with Liam Scales [edit] on the verge of joining us a couple of years ago, there's obviously appetite to come across as a player, could a manager be tempted?
Keith Long has been at Bohs for 7 years or so, and while a club legend and has been beyond successful, could he be tempted across the water?
I think the pros of the Irish League managers would be little expectation, used to operating on a minimal budget and the ones at the top of the league would bring a winning mentality. Sadly, we've missed out on Dundalk's recent managerial sensation as he manages Ireland now, but there is a really good talent pool across the sea.
You could even look at NIFL, David Healy could be tempted by a challenge in England and if he takes us up one or two levels then a massive job would definitely come calling for him.
There's a huge talent pool across there on semi-pro wages equivalent over here, it might make sense to tap into that, after missing the boat with Robinson. We opted for Barton instead and Stephen is now doing a sterling job at Morecambe.

Level 6/7 of non league. Be better to give a chance to Hargreaves with Maher. Or even McMahon at D/R. Cannigia? No idea. Mike Walker, last I heard was in Cyprus or Malta. Might as well ask McGhee to come back so it’s a no from me! Not a fan of JB as you know but until he’s not our manager.... UTG!
