Well the manager on the radio agreed we had something to moan about, in all honesty today we did not give Bath a game and I am sure they players know that. Upto them to come back stronger on Friday. I am not calling for Clarks head, but do think fans should be allowed to express their feelings good or bad. No one was going to just leave in silence after such a poor performance, and thankfully our manager had the sense to acknowledge the disappointment we all felt rather than telling us to lower our expectations or simply calling us a bunch of Bristolian lady gardens. I did and so did thousands of others. Rovers fans [not necessarily you] singing 'What a load of rubbish' and 'This is embarrassing'. that really was bloody embarrassing. who the f do we think we are? we made several changes to a decent, but unspectacular, side and it's no surprise we struggled. AND we are playing a local rival who play only one league below us, and we clearly up for it. Now we know how teams feel when we take boisterous fans to a higher division oppo, raise our game and beat them. And then we usually lose the next game afterwards. Like Bath City probably will. I don;t think the players were hugely negative, lazy or anything else. Just poorly organised, and several of them hadn't played a full game for a while / with each other. Some of them are just plain poor (Dave Martin) and didn't really deserve a game as they clearly aren't good enough and presumably won't be getting significantly better in the next 3 weeks, before the loan deal finishes. Do we as fans not give any dispensation for that?? As long as we beat gateshead next week I couldn't give a monkeys what went on today. There are only 2 good times to go out of this competition. At Wembley, or in the First Round. This isn't the FA Cup. There is NO chance of a 'big game' until about 5 games later. And even then it would a smaller payday than drawing a top Premier League team.

truth is as the aldershot fans said at there ground "we only sing when were winning" at barnet altrincham and braintree our fans quickly turned on the team and hurled abuse and we saw a bit of that today,,maybe thats how it is these days everywhere?

Our first string outfit can't even put one past Bath City - no goals in 270 mins of football. Keep cheering, mate. it wasnt a full 1st choice team though was it? hopefully you realise that? With the exception of whom?

Unfortunately we lie to ourselves.

We took our eye off the ball today, missed some key men, it's not the end of the world. After our next win everyone's forgotten today, let's hope it comes next Friday. UTG!

I was one of those who stayed behind to clap the Bath players. Once they realised people weren't taking the mick, they looked really pleased. In truth, it also felt like a small demonstration against our own, but that's better than booing etc. IMO.
For me, the worst moment was when Alex Wall took a shot, didn't catch it cleanly and it went to the keeper. Cue much prolonged ironic cheering and high clapping. There comes a point where frustration and disappointment turn into malicious enjoyment and the fans become the enemy of their own team.

That doesn't make it not our first team. You can't say "he's holding his place" and say it's not a first team as that admits the other guy is at least as good if not better.

mehewmagic: "Rovers fans [not necessarily you] singing 'What a load of rubbish' and 'This is embarrassing'. that really was bloody embarrassing." It was a load of rubbish and it was embarrassing. Don't blame them at all. "who the f do we think we are?" A top five conference team who should be able to at least give a mid-table conference south team a game at home with basically our first team. "decent, but unspectacular, side" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA "WE are playing a local rival" We were playing what is essentially our little brother club. "I don;t think the players were hugely negative, lazy or anything else. Do we as fans not give any dispensation for that??" And I think it was like watching season's team. Hoofball, no plan, flat as all f*ck, corners getting hit straight to the first opposition player. For the fans to get excited they need to see some progression. "As long as we beat gateshead next week I couldn't give a monkeys what went on today." I agree but its still painful to see us not even be able to give Bath city a game. I don't think its billy big bollocks of us to expect that. Maybe I should lower my expectations.

"decent, but unspectacular, side" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. make your mind up. are we a top 5 conference team or are we HAHAHAHAHAHAHA? you can't argue for both. It wasn't basically our first team. you miss my main point. perspective. It's a meaningless game. Yes it was a rubbish game.. yes we lost. But I'm not going to start singing 'what a load of rubbish'. I just fail to see how that helps.it is OBVIOUS to everyone it was a very very poor performance. it;s not about lowering expectations, it's about keeping your powder dry for a game that really matters. If we are still fighting for promotion in April and we lose our last two home games to Southport and Alfreton, then I might be tempted to get myself worked up.

Our first team would generally/currently be -
Mildy
Lockyer - Macca - Parkes - brown
Balanta - Sinclair - Mansell - Monkey
Blissett [full game; not injured] - Taylor
The team on display was -
Spiess [games of footy can be counted on 1 hand]
Leadbitter - Trotman - parkes - brown
Balanta - Clarke - Sinclair - Martin/Gosling
Blissett/Wall - Taylor
AND Trotman, Leadbitter, Clarke, Wall, Gosling and Martin have played very very few games in the last 2 months, and certainly not been playing regularly together, unlike the top team
THE EVIDENCE IS IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES. I fail to see how people can argue that was our first team. In fact people that do are just being stubborn and bending the facts to suit their pre-conceived opinions.

I will certainly get behind the boys over the next few games from the off - a lot depends on the manager and the players too - to get some tempo/ intensity in our player so hopefully we will create chances in the 2nd minute as well as the 92nd !! If he's not happy with them then sub 2 or 3 at half time !!

It would have been the same whoever had it. I know. He's as impassive as Buster Keaton, but he looked at the Blackthorn for few seconds not sure how to take it. It must be a weird life for players. If he scores the winner on Friday, the crowd will be going crazy for him and he'll be running to us... It'll make Jenny Agutter greeting her dad through the steam at the railway station look like a brief nod of acquaintance. They might think that our "support" is overwhelmingly dependent on how things go. That's pretty much the definition of fickle, wouldn't you say?
