Thought it would be good to have a respectful discussion of the events at the end of the match today. Would be good to keep it clean and respectful.
A few thoughts: - the stewards did a poor job of holding back both sets of supporters IMO. - you can’t begrudge a pitch invasion from a set of fans who’ve just achieved promotion. We most certainly would have ended up doing the same if the roles were reversed. - that said FGR should be fined. We have two important games left and we need our pitch to be kept in tip top condition. - it was shameful to see our supporters invade the pitch. Putting aside the obvious, it puts the condition of our pitch at risk and also risks us getting fines! - this doesn’t look good in front of families taking their kids to matches. We need as many youngsters as we can! - I’d like to see those who invaded the pitch having a long ban to let them think their actions through.

Double the fine for those wearing red and white on such a huge Gas occasion 😄

Avon and Somerset Police are responsible for allowing it to happen, should they of carried out a proper risk assessment the Forest Green fans shouldn’t of been allowed to enter the pitch. Bristol Rovers should also acted by telling them there was a potential trouble issue, and put people at risk. They are more than happy to turn up in their hundreds against Newport or Plymouth.

Not easily shocked or offended, thought the whole thing both cringeworthy and funny, been to too many football matches both professional and at kids level to be shocked by anything that happens in football! Home now and apart from reading about it on here its all forgotten about! Invading the pitch seems to pale into insignificance along side one country invading another!

I agree, it was nothing and the majority who went on the pitch behaved themselves. Fans have been running on pitches at this time of the season for decades. Take the passion out of football and football will become sterile. I’ve seen much worse todays end of match situation was like a tea party people need to lighten up and enjoy themselves. Oh and congratulations to Forest Green top of the league all season and a very deserved point today with promotion too👏

Took my 9 year old son, personally can understand the Forest green invading the pitch as they've just been promoted, a few goaded our fans but was disappointed with a few overreactions, from older men who should know better, I don't get the tribal thing as spouted by a few on Facebook, we are not the Krays.
I quickly got him out the ground as he was upset by it, sounds like more goading than fighting but nonetheless embarrassing.
Our ground staff do an immense job, last thing wd need are the stone islanders wrecking the pitch.

They are a horrible vile little football club. Let them have their day in the sun and that's all it ever will be. A hypocritical crackpot of a owner who will eventually bankrupt them.

Great to see ground staff turn on the sprinklers on the invaders.
Was a Benny Hill sketch moment. Nothing to see move on
Loved the knights templar mob take on the Nailsworth massive
Congratulations to Forest Green did a job on us. Matt roughed up three of our defenders one now nursing a black eye.

Pretty much exactly my feelings as well bluebiro. I said as much on the ‘respect’ thread yesterday. I shall raise a glass if Exeter beat them to the title (it will massive help us if they do as they’ll have beaten vale and cobblers!)

Small village in Nailsworth entertaining Derby County come August a remarkable achievement bit like Mangotsfield getting into league one !

Yeah I really don’t get the salty vibe from much of fanbase towards them. They’re having the best time in their history and yes they’ll probably end up back in league 2 after a season or two perhaps the conference but fair play to them. An underdog has won the league , its a nice story so what if they’re “ tin pot” we are tin pot when in league 1 or compared to the 82ers and we enjoy the underdog spirit then like they are now .

Stewards and police let themselves down. Both sets of fans let themselves down.
That celebration should be at their next home game, not away in a local Derby.
That being said, if we get auto promotion against Scunthorpe, I think we will ALL be on the pitch come 17:00.

main point I'll take away is the number of porkers we have in our fanbase

I can't blame forest green from celebrating,I guess the lack of police was due to the low threat they present, let them enjoy their moment like yeovil it will probably go wrong eventually. As for the young uns running on from the Thatchers I didn't actually see them do anything, and I'm guessing the knights didn't throw any punches? Seems to me the stewards either couldn't be bothered or lacked training. Its a good job our ray winstone didn't fancy a run after four pints at lunchtime 😄
