I'd like Charles Vernam of Bradford who is out of contract in the summer

Charlie Austin just announced he's leaving QPR. Will possibly still be wanted by at least someone in the championship but if we do manage to go up this season, he could possibly be convinced to drop down especially with his connection to Joey having played with him at QPR. Probably slightly ambitious though.

Get promoted and Joey may well surprise us with the quality of his signings. As he said in todays press conference he wants to reignite the Bristol rivalry ASAP.

I wonder if Lee Brown might be available as Wimbledon were relegated? WYHHB Unpopular opinion alert - No he’s getting on a bit now. He probably peaked with us in L1 and with Pompey.

Connor Taylor isn't quick enough for the Championship but great at L1/2 so hopefully Stoke will give us first refusal.

Probably slightly ambitious though. He is good mates with Joey and does seem like his type of player and if we were to get promoted I'm sure he would cross Joey's mind. No chance he would drop to league 2 but league 1 and we probably have a chance.

Andy Carroll - played with JB and would fit the Pittman, L Clarke experienced older pro mould.
Would be useful in the last 15 minutes for corners alone!

Some bloke called Jonah Ayunga available for transfer! WYHHB I didn’t think he was that bad but no simply because of guilty by association. If he's not good enough for Morecombe, he's not good enough for Rovers.

Tom Carroll would be decent.

We need someone with a greater goal threat, but fair play to Jonah. He’s done better this year than last and might actually do OK for someone in league 2. You could always see a bit of ability there and he is only 24 and two seasons into his league career.

any player that hasnt played for us before would be my preference. No thanks to Austin or Carroll - their wages alone would be vulgar.

Re GK Obv Belly will be no.1 Assuming Anssi contract runs out (??) then I imagine he will be let go - be good to give him a send off tomorrow if so. So would you a) Give Ward the back up spot b) Get a no.2 in and send Ward out for a full season loan c) get a loan no.2 and send Ward out for a couple of months.
I'd be tempted to go with a) tbh

Also if we are after a good young CB then the lad Ben Goodliffe of Sutton looks a prospect.

I didn’t think he was that bad but no simply because of guilty by association. If he's not good enough for Morecombe, he's not good enough for Rovers. But they are in a higher league than us, so that doesn't make sense. Look at their last three fixtures. Sunderland, Portsmouth and MK Dons. Mixing it with the big boys while we play Salford and Sutton.

I personally would have liked to keep him for this season, even more so after seeing how Pitman and Clarke have turned out. I thought he had quick feet, decent age and had a lot to work with/on.

Anyone know alot about Louis Britton who is being let go by C*ty???
Port Vale and Barnsley looking at him by all accounts but a few City fans think we may be interested.

A few out of contract options this summer I wouldn't mind here, although not sure how realistic : Danny Loader (Porto B), Callum Wright (Leicester), Callum Roberts (Notts County), Ruben Rodrigues (Notts County), Joe Sbarra (Solihull Moors), Tyreece Simpson (Ipswich), Harry Chapman (Blackburn), Louis Reed (Swindon).
If we could poach any of the players from the relegated League One clubs then good options would be any of Jack Tucker (Gillingham), Jack Rudoni (Wimbledon), Ayoub Assal (Wimbledon) Luke McCormick (Wimbledon) and maybe Tom Lowery (Crewe) and Tariq Uwakwe (Crewe).
Dawson Devoy (Bohemians), Jamie McGonigle (Derry City) and Mark O’Mahony (Cork City) a few lads to catch the eye over in Ireland.
