Place for one in the squad not both Kilgour for me for sure. Deserves a chance, but would be back up not starter from the start for me. Kilgour would be ok in a back 4. It was the back 3 he found more difficult. Not sure he’s as good on the ball as Connolly and Taylor. UTG!

What about Kieron Phillips? Finished loan at Swindon Supermarine , top scorer with 17 goals in 30 games , won player of the season award and scored in their County Cup Final v Corsham in a 5-2 win at the County ground last week interest from Weymouth and Maidenhead if released think Rovers might be missing a trick , I watched the Co Cup final and Marine v Yate the boy is like a greased weasel

I am not so sure all the young players will be released carte blanche.
While the Clarke's, Whelan and Coutts wages probably cost over half a £million, the combination of say Tomlinson, Phillips and Hulberts basic wage probably comes to £50k.
And then you can discount some of their wages from the donations from the 50/50 and any payments from the clubs they have been on loan, so based on the clubs losses for this season, they cost a pittance.
It might be that some are given an extra year to see how they develop.
Look at Finley, he was not in the league until he was about 23 so some players develop later than others.

I’d be disappointed if we didn’t keep Hulbert, Tomlinsonson and Phillips for at least one more season. In addition to the first pro contracts for Egan and Greenslade, that would be a decent statement of intent for youngsters coming through. Sure some will need more loan time but would be nice to see some play minutes in the 2 early cups.
