This is immense. Can’t believe how much demand there is for the first game of the season.

Be some noise when Evans fires in the opener in the first ten mins!

This is immense. Can’t believe how much demand there is for the first game of the season. We haven't played on the opening day at home in the Football League for nearly 10 years have we? Bit of a novelty for us. Plus it's against a local club who also got promoted with us, added with the feel good factor from last seasons promotion still fresh. I have a feeling this season will be our highest average attendance for a long time. Possibly over the 9,500 mark which we haven't done since 1976, which is pretty staggering actually.

900 tickets left. Capacity set at 9800 this season apparently. Was hoping we could get it over the 10k barrier.

I can't see the facts it's FGR is really adding to ticket sales, whoever we played on our first opening day game for a decade would probably be a sell out for home fans.
We'll have go some to top 9,500 average when that's the maximum home fans allowed this season if the away terrace is included, we could well beat the Mem/Twerton attendance records, whatever that figure is, which is all the more remarkable given how tight money is at present.

I estimate that our capacity will be around 10,215 if you include the hospitality boxes. However before I cause any arguments I have emailed Sam Frost at the BP to see if he can ascertain the exact capacity for next season.

I assume it will differ depending on away allocation (all south stand, part south stand or old away terrace) due to segregation. Gonna be some cracking atmospheres if we start well. Gutted I'll be by the pool in Italy for the FGR game!

Surprised it’s as low as that as I thought the removal of the family stand for the new season was to enable a much larger standing capacity for the east terrace.

Was hoping it would be 10k plus this season. What was it for the Scunthorpe game about 9400? So it’s given us an extra 400. ?

The official attendance given for the Scunthorpe match was 9790 but Rovers filled the east terrace segregation area for that game, so perhaps this season the total capacity will vary depending on the away allocation given to visiting clubs.

We averaged around 9,200 in our 1st season back in League 1 under DC in the 2016/17 season. That was off the back of successive promotions of course, but I think the feel good factor is similar now to back then. I think the squad that got promoted last season man for man was better than DC's squad, the Football we played was also far better imo, certainly from January onwards. Renewing Anthony Evans contract for 3 years, getting James Connoly back on a permanent deal and of course Joey commiting to a longer term contract as well is a sign of intent. If the Football continues to be at this level I don't see why we can't certainly emulate the average of 16/17 or higher.

We could go up to about 11k then which makes a big difference for balancing out all the 6ks on a wet Tuesday nights in November-February.

Ah ok. So if correct it hasn’t gone up at all. Pete did say 9800 but he was going to double check that figure.

Although we've got a lot more local-ish games this season, Forest Green, Cheltenham, Exeter, Plymouth, Oxford etc. Plus the big boys of Derby and Sheffield Wednesday to go with Ipswich, Portsmouth, Charlton and Bolton who are all well supported for this level. I guess it all depends on how we perform as well, if we're in and around the top 10 or Play Offs then no reason why we shouldn't be pretty much selling out every game anyway regardless whether its Derby, Sheffield Wednesday or Accrington and Morecombe.
