www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2022/july/car-park-charges/A new Auto Number Plate Recognition System at The Memorial Stadium is in force. When you arrive at The Mem, after parking in the main car park, customers must then pay for parking. If you are using the shop, parking is free for thirty minutes, but you need to record your registration in the shop. If you wish to park for longer, there are pay-and-display machines located next to the Supporters Club hut. There are no changes to matchday protocol - the car park is fully allocated to season permit holders only.

My two pennies worth here.
1....After matchdays, it looks like my pick up will not be staying for a chat and me spending more at the bar.
2....Those who park and catch supporters coach have to pay and what happens if the "day" is more than 12 hours from returning from match ?

Your pick up won’t be affected as it is no parking on matchdays, same as now 👍 The away travel one would be worth checking - good shout.

This site is often full of posts about how the club needs to explore options to increase revenue streams and explore all options to increase turnover yet as soon anything gets announced it is immediately shot down because it may, occasionally, set customers back a couple of quid.

Nothing wrong with trying for more income......but some will get caught out and fined.
At the end of the day....I would perfer to spend my limited amount of income in the clubhouse than a parking meter. 😊

I agree....that's naughty of them. Just needs some clarification on after match parking. And those supporters going away, who would like to park there would be nice. Even though I can understand the club introducing the car park charges to raise revenue & stop people who have nothing to do with the club taking advantage of the car park, I think it will be a negative for a lot of fans. The club have introduced to their credit, social clubs such as the over 60’s day club , Talkclub & other uses of the stadium facilities for private party’s ,wakes & childrens events etc., which I feel the introduction of parking charges will be detrimental. Also I’ve used the away travel coaches provided by the supporters club & whilst it doesn’t effect me as we use the Kingswood pick up, when we reach the Mem there are dozens of cars parked belonging to fans who are getting on the coaches there, surely the club aren’t going to charge them to park all day. Like with any new system there are issues but hopefully the club will listen & make it more supporter acceptable.

I would imagine that events etc can have the cars white-listed or over-ridden for charges, but definitely worth querying.

SGS Stoke Gifford are the same, you can register your Registration number and you wont get charged for parking when approved by the college. (Bristol City Acadamy, Staff, ect ect.)
Rovers should be able to offer the same, just complete and get an application approved by the club.
