Anyone know who the match dj is? I'm fed up of hearing the same old songs every game!
Surely we should be playing more youthful music than the proclaimers - letter from america, at half time.
Anyone want to get a playlist going for the club?

And that awful medley of songs to supposedly warm the crowd up. Truly awful.

Thought the music was fine today, ages of the people at the mem vary quite a lot from youngsters to the 100 year old lady mentioned, so not sure why the music needs to be "youthful" - in general there is a mix of plenty of different types of music played. Not actually sure what "youthful" music is anyway ......Bring back Del Shannon, Runaway - was the only record we had a Twerton and served us well there ......

So a bit of dance/indie or similar wouldn't go a miss to gee things up. Regularly hear tracks from underworld on televised games. We're lucky if we get something post 70's, almost every home game!

Must admit never heard of Underworld, but Wikipedia says "Underworld are a British electronic group formed in 1980" so I guess they are a bit old hat for me.

Sounds like you need a music reshuffle Amgas, I'm certainly more in your region than youthful and love Del Gannons Runaway and the memories that come with it, my eldest is taking me to watch Catfish and the Bottlemen in a few weeks to keep my eye in on the youthful music scene.

The sweet irony being that acts like Catfish and the Bottlemen are mere imitators of many pop/indie scenes of the 80s and 90s. Not too sure how people can complain about the age of the music on offer - I didn't particularly pay attention to it but I seem to recall Olly Murs being played at some point, that's modern pop music for you right there. As much as I'd like the Mem to become some kind of epicentre for leftfield music, it's not happening any time soon. Crap pop music, whether from the 1964 or 2014, is always going to be played.

Don't know why we can't have decent new music like Take That or S Club.

It would feel weird not hearing the same sh**ty music before every game. it's all part of the wonderfully awful Rovers experience we are all so in love with.

Not sure how its ironic because the vast majority of music post 70's is repeated/imitated/blatantly copied, sliced, its just dipping into what has been before and drawing comparisons at different times depending on musical tastes. With this lot I don't think you need to go back as far as the 80's or 90's as to me they are (so far) a junior Arctic Monkeys outfit with a long way to go to match lyrically, all about opinions I guess. Totally share your sentiments about the Mem being the epicentre for Leftfield music though, Leftism is one hell of an album!

Nick Day is doing just fine - if you want a DJ spend your £20 to get into Lacota, not the Rovers.
