Well it clearly isn't going to be postponed at this late stage since nothing has changed with the forecast ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Here's hoping there is provision for free water and perhaps standby extra medical care for those who succumb to the heat. And I think there will be some who do, despite those who dismiss the notion.

I would think only be postponed now if their were genuine fears for supporter safety, who knows what the EFL think at times. This is not a dig at our stadium, but I guess it will get pretty hot under the plastic roofs of our tents, so provision for free water I would imagine is a must.

I just had a read of the Oxfords forum, they don't seem to like us very much at all do they. Anyway I have to agree about what they are saying about the prices they have to pay to sit in a sh** stand or stand on the terrace with bad views, if I was an Oxford supporter I would not be going to this, I'd be watching on Ifollow. Really don't think alot of their fans but I do see their point.

Not Rovers related but in August 2003 (I think) on what was then the hottest day ever in the UK I saw Aldershot v. Accrington Stanley in the conference. There were regular drinks breaks and the game was interrupted 6 times by streakers (all male). Just thinking we do have a reputation of pitch invasions!

Nawwwww,the poor souls, f**k em.
Probably have the hump because they’re on 7 consecutive home games without a win against us (with a crowd obviously) 6 wins and a draw last time out.
We pay north of 20 sheets for a view of a Hollywood bowl car park & they tried all the tricks in that last league visit. Minimal allocation, 1000 was it down from 3? No standing, not even in the back row. Stewards acting like they had warrant cards in the back pocket & particularly being pr***s when it came to assisting with flags. Surprised we were allowed a sing song. Once again we left with all 3 points so worked out as is routine at 3 sided Lego lane.
Hope they roast good n crispy😄

I will not be the least bit surprised if the EFL make a ‘blanket’ decision tomorrow to postpone all league matches. I cannot recall any football match being played in the UK in these temperatures - EVER - they are exceptional and imo should not be taken lightly. Posters have mentioned other places around the globe where matches are played in these conditions but this is Northern Hemisphere Europe with European players. 35c equates to 95F - dangerous by any standards. Really ? I’d be furious. You can’t postpone something that’s been scheduled for months because of weather conditions you’ve known about for 7 days , 24 hours before it’s due to happen. If these games were going to be postponed then it should have been done earlier in the week or not at all. The cost of postponing it late will leave them open to being sued by nearly a hundred clubs that have put on coaches , food, stewards , police etc. Ludicrous suggestion that it should be postponed so close to the matchday. So all about you then being furious - I understand. “Ludicrous” I don’t think so, apart from the players there are are upwards I would guess of 5k supporters of all ages standing or even sitting (only the Thatchers or West Stand offer any form of real cover) in extreme heat for over two hours in arguably one of the worst equipped stadiums in the UK for offering protection against the elements. Would you stand or sit in your garden for two hours with no shade?

Me and my old man can't risk those temperatures in the east terrace. Unless the club approve a refund or let me defer the tickets to another game that's £50 gone

Good job your not a roofer, builder or road worker as these people have little choice, but fans do need to take care from the sun & heat by covering up, wearing hats, plenty of sun cream/block & try staying hydrated.

Unless the club approve a refund or let me defer the tickets to another game that's £50 gone I’m a S/T holder in the East Stand where I regularly get hosed down, or look into direct sunlight or go home frozen solid - but I’m going tomorrow - there will be many I feel deciding not to go and effectively losing a match and hard earned money.

There’s only tickets left in the south stand so suggest anyone who has tickets they can’t give back to the club offer them up on social media - there’s a good chance someone will take them off your hands leaving you not out of pocket and hopefully win win for everyone.

Same. We go to 75% of home games in all weathers, but I just think tomorrow is another level, for us anyway

Just had an email from Claire at the club advising they'll refund me. Responded within 10 minutes of my email.
Brilliant customer care. Love this club. UTG

Would you stand or sit in your garden for two hours with no shade? Try working in it for 9 hours a day. There’s plenty who are in it longer than that working. Not standing still. It’s not an endurance test. It’s not a competition about who is hard enough. It’s about the safety of everyone who wants to go to football. It’s not a club thing. The EFL need to look at the danger posed and make a decision, or allow clubs the independence to make their own. No one should have to choose between going to a match they’ve paid for and potentially risking their lives or losing money - especially at the moment. If one person dies tomorrow as a result of the heat then it’s one too many. And who is in a position to say to the elderly or infirm - ‘tough luck but you can’t go’. Yes people can help themselves - water, hat etc. but these are extreme conditions. And they need to be recognised as such. Player and fan safety are far more important than any football match. Postponing it would cause very little harm except to a few people’s Saturday afternoon plans.

Have just been shown something on Facebook which genuinely made my eyes bleed.
Someone has paid actual money (not even Monopoly pound notes) to have a banner made up specifically for tomorrow, which features the snakes image with “We will never forget you Martin” emblazoned across it.
Which I’m assuming is the joke, because his names Matty/Matthew & not Martin. So now I can’t unsee what is probably the least funny gag I’ve ever had the misfortune of being exposed too.
It’s probably reached Twitterland already so we’re all shown up as a collective. Some place that Facebook group, jaysus Christ.
