I’m sure all the people that were behind the postponements this weekend will be calling for the same Tuesday and Saturday. Because none of the reasons spouted have changed at all.

Now you’re being a tad silly percy, I’m surprised. You seem to think it’s a binary choice, we’re all for it or all against it! It’s been a much more nuanced position which I think they just about got right, obviously not everyone agrees as you would expect. Tuesday and subsequent fixtures should go ahead as planned. The football world has paid its respect, we now move on. UTG!

Thought She did that. Silly Sunday? Can't think of a better day of the week.

Seeing all the spectators watching the golf at Wentworth, I think it's a shame that football supporters had the option to chose to attend games made for them.

I don’t want to sound cold and practical at this sad time, but it would be helpful if the FA and EFL make some announcement now about the fixtures for the next 10 days so that we can all plan ahead. With the funeral announced for a week on Monday does that affect next weekend’s games (or maybe just the London ones taking into account public transport pressure)? And what about this coming midweek? I see champions league games are already set to go ahead. Fixtures next weekend are Fri, Sat, Sun so don't expect any changes. If there was a Monday game I would have thought they would have brought it forward. Wouldn't it be nice if they were all 3pm Saturday I’d imagine Chelsea v Liverpool (which I think is the late Sunday game) will be called off by the police. No reason why all other games next weekend and those in midweek can’t be played.

On reflection i feel that life should have carried on as normal. With today being a sunday and the monarch being the head of the CofE. Being a day where the "old" sunday rules came in. As in shops closed after midmorning ,pubs limited hours and no professional sports.with the majority of industry also closing for the day. A quiet sunday.
Im sure most disagree but thats fine.

Sorry I haven’t gone through all the posts, so I maybe repeating other comments.
It’s been a strange weekend without any football from Prem to kids grassroots, and of course the feeling of if you a Royalist or anti Royal of real sorrow on the passing of a wonderful woman.
I absolutely think it is the right decision as a mark of respect for our late Queen.
However I can’t help feeling that the complete muppets that all clubs have as so called supporters, those that ruin our game have won.
I wouldn’t of wanted to make the decision to call off fixtures.
You can’t help feeling that the powers to be quite rightly don’t want pictures broadcast around the world of a small minority of idiots that are at every club to disrupt a minutes silence or remembrance.
Sad that this I have no doubt would have been considered when making the decision.
RIP our Queen, and all being well, we will see our other holy grail next weekend.

Wonder how many fans would have made their own decision and not feel it right to attend if games had gone ahead, enough to cost clubs a few bob i reckon. Any way it's gone now, hope you all survived, not so bad was it? just no game to moan about! Probably zero. I'm sure people would've wanted to attend and have a period of silence or applause, sing GSTQ, that kind of thing. Would you have gone, given the opportunity? I found it absolutely bizarre that we had to go to work, schools were open etc. etc. , but going to Weston vs. Chesham on Saturday? Supposedly too grief stricken for that.

Football could have done the same regarding any games scheduled for Friday, and then resumed on the Saturday too.

Now the Football authorities will be seen to have scored an own goal when, owing to limited policing, most games in London will be off this weekend, and maybe some other big games that require a large police presence.
It would surely have made sense to have gone ahead this weekend and postponed the weekend's games prior to the funeral.

Tbf has football ever really moved a game back/forwards by a day at such short notice? Confident that most managers would reject the rearranged fixture, especially if they had to play again on Tuesday. I’m assuming at this point that Ipswich goes ahead, they’ve had the whole weekend to declare otherwise? However next weekend could be a different story with the bank holiday weekend & funeral now. I imagine most police forces will be committing big numbers to the capital

After all its hardly a regular occurence and the safety of vast numbers of people in the capital is obviously paramount after all it is an unprecidented event, the first in circa 70 years. No doubt some games will be able to go ahead and I expect our game against Lincoln will be one of those.

So are we to assume tomorrow's game is going ahead? Dreadful lack of clarity from the EFL

Any Friday fixtures could have been re-arranged at a later date. Saturday, resume fixtures, the same as other sports did.

One minute silence and black armbands for the National League. Wonder what the EFL will have us doing

So are we to assume tomorrow's game is going ahead? Dreadful lack of clarity from the EFL Nonsense, the original statement says "EFL fixtures will then recommence on Tuesday 13th September 2022, when Rovers face Ipswich Town at Portman Road."What is not clear about that?
