Well, what is happening? I was hoping for some good news in the New Year but deathly silence. I just don't understand it; we either have a contract with Sainsburys or we don't. Is it a case that the contract is so badly written that sainsburys have numerous holes to exploit in order to wriggle out? In which case I should imagine the BOD are seriously hacked off with their advisors.
It just doesn't make sense to me.

If there is a problem, I would understand the club no wanting to publicise matters, with the team doing so well. It would spoil the feel-good factor at the club and who knows how detrimental that could be. The most important thing at the moment is what is happening on the pitch and at the moment we are doing really well. Long may that continue.
It would be a great time for good news however!

I thought there was a 6 weeks period of grace from the delivery hours being agreed allowing an appeal which is due to end this week? if there is no appeal then surely the contract is "watertight" (as far as we are aware anyway) so we should surely be hearing something shortly??

And let's face it, if there is a time limit for an appeal you can be sure TRASH will wait until the last possible moment to submit it. The judge in the earlier Judicial Review really laid into TRASH for doing exactly that, but assuming they have the finance for another Judicial Review I can guarantee they'll do the same again.

I'm not sure I want to know as either way its a distraction we don't need during the season, even with our brilliant run of form. TBH I had kind of forgotten all about it, although the IF is the place to be if you want to keep debating what we don't know

As I understand it the contract with Sainsbury is solid but they are unlikely to part with their money until forced to by a court of law. I believe there will be a positive end to this but not anytime soon thus delaying our progress and costing the board even more money

Surely the only people who matter when it comes to our performance on the field are the players and manager and to be honest I doubt they would be distracted by it one way or another. I'd just like to hear where we stand, whatever the outcome, as soon as possible.

I seem to remember that when the decision on the extra delivery hours was announced the council stated there was no right to appeal the decision. That's why I don't understand the lack of any activity since that date, especially when Toy Wattola said on TV the club now expected Sainsburys to fulfil the contract without further delay.

Given that the original UWE timescale required a start in May to be ready for the following season, alongside the deafening silence from the club, I can't see it being ready for 2016-17, so that means yet another season's delay...

Another poster suggested any appeal would have to be made within 6 weeks, I doubt BCC can make a decision and say it can't be challenged in anyway. Although I wonder if Trash have any appetite for incurring yet more costs?

Sainsburys want out and if it were straightforward for them to walk away then they would have done so before now. As you say there will probably be a positive outcome but it may well take some time before we see it.

True, but I assume they've paid their own solicitors costs?

True, but I assume they've paid their own solicitors costs? I think they had a "no win, no fee" arrangement?
