Hello campers ✌️
Been away now 3 times in the Motorhome, all relatively local , Broadway in the Cotswolds , Longleat and Cheddar for a few local-ish starters as we get our head around how things work . A 2 week trip to Scotland in the spring then another 2 weeks in sunny France in the summer planned . Loving it , for any other Gas thinking of taking the plunge .

Get to visit lots of places you wouldn’t normally go to , don’t knock it until you’ve tried it 😀👍

Just had call from auto glass who fit windscreen on behalf of insurers …… and they will only cover the first £1,000 . So could I pay the extra …. £2880 !!! What a bloody con insurance is . Will be making a few calls later 🙄

The insurance covered 100% but we had to pay auto glass €1580 and get the refund from our insurance. Auto glass agree (here known as car glass) not to put through our payment through until we had the money from our insurance company. Worth asking Auto glass if they do the same.

Auto glass just do the work , it’s the insurers who won’t pay up . Something to do with highway the underwriters and Victoria Liverpool the overall insurers . My policy is with a company who specialise in Moho insurance……Adrian Flux .

Sell it. Pocket the cash and go somewhere.

Motor Insurance is a scam. The average increase in car insurance premiums this year was 40-43%!!!!!
Mine went up by 42% with no claims or accidents. Went on to Go Compare to get a better price only to see that my current insurer's quote was one of the cheapest.
The ridiculous increases were blamed on inflation of course, which all unscrupulous operators leap on as a chance to increase prices to whatever level they like.
Especially if they are operating a hush hush insurance cartel.

Most people offer cash to one another in the event of a prang as they know getting a small dent fixed is cheaper than 5 years of increased insurance premiums. They get our money, safe in the knowledge most of us are too afraid to claim on it. So we pay insurance and never use it. Its an utter scam.

I agree to an extent, but insurance is taken in case something happens. It's easy to look back and say (for example) I've had home insurance for X number of years and never claimed. Imagine not having insurance and having a house fire. I remember taking out a critical illness insurance policy thinking nothing would happen to me. One of the best policies I took as a few years later was diagnosed with cancer and it paid out a lump sum sufficient to pay off the mortgage. Mind you I'm biased as I worked in banking saw the benefits of insurance and sold them to customers.

It clearly stated windscreen insurance included ( I had an idea it would be expensive to replace on an A-Class. Moho ). Nothing I could read before paying told me it was limited to £1,000. It was buried in the small print that I could only possibly find after I’d paid . A complete con ! Made sure on next yrs insurance which is due soon that replacement for a windscreen is fully covered. No doubt that will be fine and some other mishap will happen that I won’t be covered for 🙄😂

It's a free service so you have nothing to lose.
