A little break from the constant bickering about Southgate and Stadiums...
Worried about friday. Sounds like the bug from last weekend is still working its way through the squad (Loft definitely out) and even those that will have recovered wont have had a good week of training. Long trip on a friday night to a big side has all the makings of a hard night. Hope Joey gets some good battling spirit in the squad for it or it could be another tough watch.

I'm thinking the sickness bug contributed to the lethargic display on Sunday. Hopefully most of the first choice 11 are okay now, although Rossiter sounds a bit doubtful. Wonder if Bolton players have had a similar problem since this seems to be a nationwide bug.

Must admit was confident the boys would show their mettle after the Boreham Wood no show and beat Bolton 2-0.This illness though (covid I saw somewhere) will make things very very difficult for us by the sounds of it.Still hoping for the best but a loss seems more likely now.

If it is Covid then surely there are grounds for a postponment? I finally succumbed to Covid about 8 weeks ago and it knocked me for six for a period of ~ 3 weeks - and yes I've had the jabs. I'm quite a bit older and far less fit than a bunch of 20 and 30 something year old pro-footballers, but the virus is still pretty potent and there's lots of it about.

Any coincidence that Jaakkola was the first to go down with the bug. He walked off the field against Peterborough with JCH...who we knew had been ill. No blame...but seems a likely cause.
Wonder if Colchester or Boreham wood players have gone down ill since the games against Rovers (?)

Do we still not have isolation advised, IF covid ? I ask as i tend to avoid news programmes now and because i can get low when constantly hearing sad and scary stuff, mostly not founded on absolute fact

Like you I tend to switch off the news, especially the BBC (apart from the local stuff) as all they seem to do is stoke the fires of division and undermine at every opportunity

I think someone mentioned it on here and I repeated it but going by what JB said it seems to be more like a puke your guts up for a couple of days kind of thing which I don’t think is a covid symptom.

Pretty certain if it was COVID the club would have closed down the training ground, it just seems some kind of virus going around the players. Hopefully JB's making more of it in the hope that Bolton are expecting another poor performance from us.

There’s a nasty cold virus going around, I’ve had it, that’s the first cold for over two years. There’s not lots of Covid around just thought I’d point that out, no more than any other respiratory virus this time of year. This isn’t my opinion just the ONS facts, 23,000 odd positive cases in the last 7 days, If we want to worry ourselves to death over matters medical perhaps the msm should have a more in depth look at the excess deaths that aren’t Covid related but possibly due to the elephant in the room, boosters??!!

Finley got turned by one of their players, in a league game he would have battled back to try and win the ball and at worst would have fouled him. On Sunday he made a half hearted chase and then gave up. A fully fit and well Finley would not do that.

I have no idea what the situation is re the 'bug', it would be just like Rovers to confound everyone and get a positive result v Bolton, hope so.

Who is brave enough to take on the MDT, my run was short and after Boreham Wood I'll avoid starting another. Most important for me is a fit Finley and (tho seems unlikely) Rossiter. Without one or both of those, I fear another Barnsley/Derby etc. Was gonna watch on iFollow, fortunately it is now poker night so hope to win big and find Rovers did too at the end.

Where’s the match day thread, who’s in the chair? I will take it on if no one else has any balls? 😁 I’ll give it a couple of hours UTG!
