Hoping Dartfords drive to get out the relegation places tonight on tv overcomes Halifax ambitions for a play off slot as they have 3 games in hand on us. This and hopefully Barnet not getting 3 points before we play Saturday all helps to crank up the excitement !! Jannergas on twitter I seem to recall No not me Phil

Woking look like signing Lafayette from Luton. Worrying as that would look a good signing. Scored 17 in 41 games with Welling in the Conference last season. Supposedly a quick, strong forward player.

Can't believe it's pay on the day. Could be a bit of trouble getting in... And so it proved. If a cretin like myself could foresee that then why couldn't those who mattered foresee it?

I was right. Though we actually needed to sing to try and create an atmosphere. Not sure why but we were rubbish yesterday.

I thought that as well, Bishopston . 1869 Gas but hardly a peep out of us. Strange. Hard to get excited about an away day at woking though. Atmospheres down in the conference is a bit weird. Groups of 20 late teens bouncing up and down on a terrace singing 80s songs that they have just discovered doesn't constitute an atmosphere for me. Much prefer the witty stuff that comes up which also seems to be few and far between down here. I mean, who wants to get in a slagging match with the likes of woking, eastleigh, etc. It's a bit embarrassing really.

Sadly I can't comment on what it was like inside the ground. It seemed fairly vocal walking back threw the park to find a pub after we never got in...
I have just seen that BBC link, interesting the Woking spokesperson goes completely against what our "board" are telling us about the whether to make it all ticket or not.
Sadly it's going to be another situations of one club saying one thing, another saying another, tick for tat. God how refreshing now the moment has past for someone whether it be "our" board or "Woking FC" to simply put there hands up and say "sorry we cocked up".
Thou sadly as football fans who often get treated like cattle especially at away matches this won't happen.
Just out of interest, when it came apparent that there was bob chance of us getting in about 3.20 ish. I had a word with the small'ish police sergeant who I presume was in charge of the police unit on the away turnstiles. Nice enough bloke, was honest in his answers and understanding of the situation, time, money and effort of fans that have travelled only to stand in a car park, I was told it was Category B match which is classed as a medium risk game. Was told by him they weren't expecting trouble but we're expecting an away following of around 2000 mark if not more. So it would seem they were expecting a few more than both clubs have mentioned.
And how UTG and on to Dartford

I can't see at all how it is the away club's responsibility when making the decision to make a match all ticket or not. Yes, the away club should be consulted, but the final decision has to be by the Home club - it's their ground.
All the intelligence pointed toward an away following over somewhere between 1800 and 2400 - backed up by the Police sergeants comment above, and by the person I was with on Saturday. I was in a small group of four of us - 2 Gas, as guests of a friend of a friend, a lady who is heavily involved in Woking, and she knew that a huge following was expected. I was up in the small stand behind the team dugouts, quite near the directors area, and could see the away sections were pretty full but had no idea people were locked out until I got home and saw it here on the forum. I think clubs like Woking are genuinely pleased to see such large numbers of away fans, I was introduced to the Woking Chairman before the game and he seemed so happy at the large following - of course this was before it became apparent how large. Hopefully they will learn a lesson and make contingencies for any other potential big crowds - they could easily have divided off a section of the terrace behind the goal, or made more of the big stand available, but probably this was difficult to do at 3.20 with the game already in progress. Hopefully it won't be a problem for us again, unless we get them in the FA Cup!
