With the holiday period more people are likely to be at home, so less off street parking available, plus potentially the biggest crowd of the season and a lot of away supporters also traveling by car.
As Tom has said before, profits from the club bars, Irene's Kitchen and the pasty huts go directly to the football club, so could help JB and EJ with the transfer/ wages negotiations.
Not sure if Muller Rd is still being worked on, so best set off a bit earlier and have a prematch drink and a bite to eat in the clubhouse or the fanzone.

No need for such comments, only looking out for best interest of the club.
Personally I will do a mixture of both.

You build a rapore with some bar staff and landlords that actually welcome you back because they recognise you so feel custom is sometimes appreciated. More options of beverage. The bounty of the Gloucester Road, my man....it never lets you down 👍

There tonight?

Would be good if they kept enough stock of hot foods so that you can get some at HT then.

There tonight? Can see why the owner isn’t interested in revamping the Mem. Why spends millions upgrading facilities when Glos Rd will still be seconds away and supporters will continue to use those bars rather than our own. I’m not sure I’d gamble that fans will switch to drinking in the ground if I were Wael. A location with less hospitality competition makes sense.

Being recognised by staff makes you feel welcome and having that rapport is very welcome, for me anyway. Anyway, as you say, each can do as they wish.

It’s an easy fix Eric, make it competitive, easier to get served and make people feel they are welcome and not just profit. It really could be a simple thing to do.

I'll be leaving home at 5 o'clock, a burger and chips in the fanzone, and I might even try a veggie pasty at half-time - assuming that they have any left. Safe journeys and good fare to everybody! x

There tonight? I am, and have been for many years now. I've been marginalised from spending at the Mem as cash is my heavily much preferred choice of transaction. I am in a group of like minded individuals, one of whom isn't even on forums or social media and uses cash because he is just used to limiting his spending. He's had issues with that sort of thing contributing to his past mental health issues. He's been marginalised too. We all go out own merry little way, whatever works for you, so am more than happy to reconnect with the Road's finest! Onwards and upwards!

About time the club listened to the fans.
The last game the system broke and we were told it was cash only in the clubhouse.
Surely it makes sense to have at least a couple of cash tills around the ground?
Anyway, sure to be a large crowd queing outside at 7.15 onwards, so like the OP suggested get there early wherever you visit for your prematch and grab a double header programme while you can!

Do people really expect or want to be on first name terms with individual members of the bar staff, that often changes week on week🙃🧐
Understandable over at a village club like Mangotsfield or a bigger example Bath City but when you’re talking crowds of 8/9,000 every home game?
