Just happy with the three points. I know we never make it easy for ourselves but the win was vital today. UTG!

Three points but by God were we bad second half….
After a good period getting some goals and even a disallowed effort for offside running into the break Evans gives the ball away again and they hit the post… momentum swing.
Connolly who at times looks like a rabbit in head lights then gifts Cheltenham a nonsense goal and we were hanging on.
Desperate we get Connor Taylor in or similar and a decent left back … Also need a replacement for Evans who continues to be awful -
Positives were Aaron , Josh , SS7 and at times Capt Coutts.
Unbeaten in 2023 - UTG !

Poor poor poor 2nd half defence needs looking at I was expecting it in all honesty, we usually have a poor half. Glad that we hung on, still giving possession away unnecessarily when they should be keeping the ball and playing it simple funny how people see thing differently, I think we usually com out better in the 2nd half

That type of result is the one we'll look back on in May when we finish 6th and say "we can't be brilliant every week".
We should have been 5-1 up at half time, but a combination of the worst Mem pitch for 3 years, a combined hangover for 10,000 spectators and our listlessness, meant it was just 2-0.
Second half, whatever! Luca made a difference, I suppose.
Sod it, we won. Let's take it.

The space we gave May though time and time again with a simple ball over the top was unbelievable. It's a win but we have to be better if we want to trouble the play off places

Not the best performance and at times it was horrible but it’s 3 points and we’re still in the top half so happy days.

But we dug in and got the 3 points and that’s all that matters, we can’t be Brazil every week you know! UTG.

All our own doing though

Very comfortable first half, Collins again very good. Second half very uncomfortable after a late xmas present from Connelly. Finley didn't seem fit second half and wasn't as mobile and we lost control in midfield, still got the result which is the main thing today. UTG

Just got back..
This team won ugly, which is important to grind out results wherever.... again, an entertaining match which see sawed on each half, but most of all I think I saw an absolute knackered display out there that dysfunctionally deserved a win in first half, but could so easily snatched a draw or worse out the jaws of victory second half.
Entertainment levels high for the neutral again. This time just holding on, defending and seeing out a winning position.
My m o m again, Aaza. Unplayable. Lovely through ball by Finley (I think!?) For his own finish.... another slick one touch move to assist for Coburn... Cheltenham defending left a lot to be desired.
Mem sedated by no doubt the drop of something last night and Sunday football is different. Poor atmosphere.
Connolly must like Japan with his carry on of kamikaze passing from Thu night....this time it led directly to Alfie May eating that one up and thus potentially letting them back in it....will he be publicly humiliation by JAB for making a mistake?
Belly had regulation standard good game ... Nice come back, mate.
Sinclair running in first half on left cutting in, looks great....we should utilise his attacking prowess....in the end he was played at rwb which was less effective. An important part of a front 3 with c&c though. I would make it a priority to tie him up til end of season. Nice contribution..
I genuinely hope Gibson recovers from his injury sub as for me he's been best of defence ... Only time will tell. Not 100% sure on Thomas. I felt he wasn't marking his man enough and Alfie had him a bit with their offside trap they were threatening to spring.. He held out though. With help of Hoole later on. And....two amazing blocks by Evans!
Finley general play off form. Coutts loss of pace. Anderson not really getting in match but added an option down the right. I liked his energy and engine...
All in all, a pedestrian win where we hardly got out of second gear, but a few bits of wizardry and attacking prowess won us this because we were almost absent in mid.....but everyone needs to take a well deserved rest break.

The linesman at that end had a nightmare with his offside decisions, got to admit I thought it looked offside. The loudest cheer I’ve heard in a long time from the west enclosure when the Lino finally got a decision right was quite telling. Shame he put his flag up when Coburn thought he had scored our third as it was a great through ball & finish.

Unbeaten in 2023 - UTG ! Tbf to Connollys pass, whilst it was ridiculously bad, the Cheltenham player still had a lot of work to do. I wouldn’t expect a striker to always drive into that position and also score. Good play tbf to him, however questions also need to be asked to the other defender (only saw a glimpse on iFollow so didn’t see who it was) and Belshaw who shouldn’t be beaten to comfortably on that angle? IMO, the goal wasn’t a gift.

I thought we switched off before half time, Sercombe hit the post near the end of the half. Gifting them a goal didn’t help much but to see the confidence drain out of us like that was worrying. A better team than Cheltenham would have won that game. We looked a bit more composed when Hoole and then Gibbons came on. Finley and Coutts ran the show for the first 30 minutes but they didn’t get on the ball thereafter. Sinclair did well as did Collins and Coburn. We looked tired towards the end and good that we haven’t got a game until Saturday. A reinforcement or two would be good.

Just pleased to win, scruffy performance some of the passing not crisp enough, with a few additions we could challenge for a play off position.
Interesting month ahead worried that Azza might go, if we get a bumper fee it would soften the blow, as long as we have someone lined up.
