www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2023/january/ticket-exchange/Way I’m interpreting this is that a season tickets pro rata worth is less than the face value equivalent of a single ticket match. Therefore the club get whatever the difference is between the pro rata worth of the season ticket and the full price match day ticket. So very much win win for everyone involved. Assuming we’re selling our/close to it? I’d say the bigger money maker is getting more people to sign up to a ST. They’ll broadcast this everywhere in the summer, and rightly so - it’s a win/win for both parties.

I’m a big fan of this - so far this season I’ve allowed another family to use my tickets for one game due to being abroad, and on one other occasion this year that we were ill I let the club know to sell them again, which they did. This way they will still get to sell the tickets again yet I get my paid amount back - less than the “on the day” price and also allowing the in ground spend on beer / food / merch so club can maximise spend.

One of my bug bears is how poor the marketing is. We really did not make anywhere enough money following promotion.
In addition, I think we have had lots of really poor bright ideas foisted on us, that probably actually result in massive loss of potential income for the club. (cashless 50/50, Ticketmaster, small "giant" sic, tv screens in sub zero temperatures, outsourced catering that get the profits, removal of Helpline, YP, Blue Diamonds club, social/fundraising events not allowed to be held at the Mem, etc etc).
On this occasion I have to give credit where it is due, as it seems a good idea.
I believe that a ST is (or was) strictly for the individual and was not permitted to be passed on to anyone else in the event that the ST holder could not attend a match.
If they now get an effective partial refund of the reduced admission cost (due to ST savings) and the club can resale the match ticket for the full on the day value, it is a good thing.
Well done, a step in the right direction.

First tickets (MK Dons) sold via the exchange. Easy to put up for sale (mine and my bros linked account). Sold for £28 I believe (East Stand seated) we got £20 credit in our individual TM accounts. Can't complain! Hope whoever bought them enjoys the lovely view and hopefully a win!

The club gets the difference in price to an on the day sale, the seat gets filled at a time where these tickets are really hard to come by. No one gets ripped off. What’s not to like? Well done to the club!

Why do I imagine that season cards cannot be temporarily disabled for one game Can just see people either selling on their ticket and still attending with their card.. or selling on their ticket and not attending, but then the card machine denying you when you next turn up!

They can be . I *thought* I’d forgotten my season ticket card for a game earlier this season, went to the ticket office to ask if they could help ! They issued me with a printed ticket , then being the fool that I am I found my card in my wallet but in a different section to where I normally put it ….doh 🙄 I explained my numptiness to the lady in the office I’d found it whist stood in front of her and she said not to worry as it had been disabled for that game and to use the ticket she’d just printed me.

Ah that's cool. I mean - that's how it should work and kinda the whole point about having cards instead of vouchers in a book! But I was just remembering the start of the season when cards weren't being reactivated and you were either just being ushered in when the light went red - or being sent to the ticket office to get a paper ticket printed.

Well done to the club! Great initiative from the club, was really annoying at some of the earlier matches in the season when we had a few sell outs to see seats empty in the East stand close to where we sit, due to season ticket holders not attending. Seems like a winner all round, the non-attending ticket holder gets a refund, the club pockets the difference & also get the revenue from people who can now attend from match day food & drink etc.

If I've read this right the resales are the ones that show as a red dot on the Ticketmaster site. If no one buys it then the original ticket holder gets nothing. If that's the case is the colour coding system stated anywhere?

If that's the case is the colour coding system stated anywhere? That the way I see it, probably the only season ticket holders who may miss out on trying to resale their tickets, are the east terrace one’s, as that’s usually the last area to sell out, but shouldn’t be a problem for the Derby,Ipswich & Sheffield Wednesday matches.

Just posted my ticket for Saturday on sale and also Burton (H) further down the line owing to work commitments. Will receive £15 for each, East Terrace ticket.
Could not have been easier, quite literally took minutes.

Not sure reduced 50/50 ticket sales and the demise of Helpline etc will result in a "massive" loss of potential income, were probably only talking in the £100's. As far as Tickemaster are concerned could you ever see our own ticket office ever being able to operate a similar ticket exchange scheme?
