So if it cost £45K per year for a temporary stand for 100 odd seats then how much will it cost for a 4000 seat temporary stand (simple multiplication would mean £1.8M per season). I imagine prices have risen somewhat since then. After two years it will have cost you over £1K per seat which is what a basic permanent structure will cost. I truly hope we're not going for this approach. I have a feeling the 4000 figure is going to come back and bite somebody on the arse. 😂 You're probably right. Will be typical rovers.

I think we're possibly over thinking the size of this thing, it's going to be a cheapish temporary stand, it won't mean knocking other stands down or moving the pitch, it won't need a lift to get top the top tier or anything like that. Dear Mr Bagpuss The pitch is being dug up in the summer to have the drainage re done, the pitch will then be relayed 2m closer to the Thatchers end I would ask you how you know that, but I won't.

I'm guessing no matter what gets built, Wael is yet again paying for it? The Bloke needs some recognition.

The two properties that were owned by the club along with the land behind were 18 and 20 and looking at the works that have recently taken place on those properties it really does look like they have been sold. That's the assumption I'm drawing from local maps. The last plans we put 2019 shows the trampoline x2 area outside of our boundary. However I am not an architect or planner. pa.bristol.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=PG2SA1DNIYY00Click 4th October site location plan box No 20 has a recent planning application but I don’t recognise the name as associated with Rovers.

The 2 properties at the top of Alton Road are Nos 20 and 25. 20 is a leasehold property, last sold in 2016 no idea who sold or bought. 25 is also leasehold, but last sold in 2021. Leasehold being owned by 1 person/organisation and then let to a different person/organisation (I think). The two properties that were owned by the club along with the land behind were 18 and 20 and looking at the works that have recently taken place on those properties it really does look like they have been sold. Well they would have been, wouldn't they, because redevelopment of the Mem is a non-starter. Doh!

Would guess the cost eyc is not the actual contract amount

I'm sensing we'll all be disappointed now if the club announces just a 2,000 seat new stand, perhaps waiting and just releasing the 3D drawings would have been a better option rather than drip feeding information.

Each block is 250 x 4 south stand 1000 and south / west 400. If you filled the exciting gaps I reckon you could get 3 blocks in using the L shape. So based on the current model 2000 easily. The question is can you double it ? . I would like to think you could increase it by 30% as a minimum. It would be ambitious to double it given Holmes design might not have the avaliable space. Who knows ?

I’m going to really miss the view of Purdown from the north terrace, especially in the winter.

Isn't all the grass we see the same or are there parts which are the "pitch" and other parts are just bog standard grass, given that the present grass goes right to the edge of the north stand terracing?

IN RESPONSE TO A QUESTION ABOUT SAFE STANDING IN THE PROPOSED NEW STAND.
David Bright replied:
"Not with the structure that we’d be looking at, as the seats need to come in as part of the support, loads of standing in the rest of the stadium, but not loads of seats, so key for us to achieve as many as possible in this area."

If the 4k figure is accurate then it'll be similar size to the Atyeo Stand at Ashton Gate.
That will be bigger than anything we've ever built. Temporary or not.

Not a large time frame either to get it all sorted.Anyway so lovely to be talking about ground improvements for the first time since the Flintstones. Yabadabadoo

David Bright replied,: "We’ve started the conversations and we have good people working on it for us, we hope to be able to keep pace on the project." Well we've heard that before. We've employed more stadium consultants than I can count. Now I realise it won't be 4,000. It'll be announced as 2,500, then 1,750, then it won't happen after all.
