If true, the club will have to respond asap to this news item. The article refers to not enough disabled spaces, I would find it staggering to withdraw an application on that basis, when that can easily be remedied. |

Already told you that I don't know the details. I am just a supporter like yourself. My opinion is simply based on the difficulty we have had getting PP, applied for in April. The site isn't particularly big, if we went for the 18K that people have suggested, if we're to reach dizzy heights, would we easily be able to increase capacity - I doubt, but I also can't accurately predict the future. Further to the above. I am sceptical about what we would end up with. If the South Stand isn't so temporary, then would end up with a ground that has pillars everywhere? It is the sort of stand you have built 40 years ago. Fair enough. So the opinion that it would be terrible to walk away from the FM, is due to the assumption that all eggs will be in the basket of developing the Mem. Thus is despite knowing nothing about the FM situation, neither the intentions of the club regarding the medium/long term plans for the mem/new ground. So, you think we should have kept the tents and lingered around Conygar a while longer without knowing any detail? Or is it possible that the club have made a decision because they might know a little more than the zilch known by me and you? I have said already the new stands are good idea to improve the Mem whilst we are here, until the FM or something else better comes along. I've never said the new stand is terrible. It is funny how the deal has been on the table and been in discussions, probably before being mentioned by Wael himself over 4 years ago now. Why have we suddenly realised that it isn't a good deal for us. Really taken 4 years to start talking about revenue streams etc? I'm not a business director or anything, but before planning a huge project you would have good idea of finances early before realising what's viable and what is not. |

So what does this mean? We have resubmitted. If so does this mean it won't now be called in as councillor Edwards will be happy? Does it mean we have to wait for the whole planning lifecycle again? When is it likely it will be able to open? Much as I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt before, this does seem to be a very large c*ck up. |

My dads disabled and has had a season ticket for every season at the Mem until this year. He's 85 now and can't get to as many games so for the first time in 40+ years he hasn't got a season ticket. He's hoping to get down for a few games but Clare at Rovers said there is a long waiting list for disabled places so it wouldn't be possible until the South Stand was open. How long that waiting list is I don't know but 10 new spaces isn't many and expect half of those go to away fans. If it was possible to increase that to 20, 15 home & 5 away, that would be a good move IMO. |

Surprised at this . 34 disabled places in a stadium of 12k sounds really low to me . |

Ultimately we will get PP eventually, but the whole thing has been a farce from start to finish in their rush to build it in the first place Iām going to reserve judgement on whether itās farcical until bums are on South Stand seats and we can look at how weāve got from point A (knowing we were going to be in League one and needing extra capacity) to point B (when itās fully open). If at the end of the day weāve moved from A to B in a decent timeframe then what does āall the noise in betweenā really matter?Building anything in Bristol, especially where Greens are so prevalent, was never going to be seamless even if weād done everything we needed to do in an impeccable manner. |
