I did some research into the cost of prefab stands some time ago and posted on here the cost which is about £50,000 per hundred seats, a total of 1.75 million then you have to add on a couple of hundred thousand for putting in bars etcetra , so that ties in with the 1.9 million quoted in the application. So if we were to add something similar on the north and east sides adding 10K seats then it will cost in the region of £5M? No because you would have to build either side of the Centinary stand and do it two tiers so as not to block site lines from the existing middle bit. If knocked the stand down and rebuilt, there would be the cost of demolision and removal , plus the new stand would be twice the size in length of the south stand. I don't know for sure but i would have thought the East side alone would cost 5 million plus.

Why won't you simply edit the post to say: "I reached out to Edwards when the first application went in and this is what she said" I don't get your issue with OM55's OP, when it's pretty clear to most of us it related to the now withdrawn plans. It didn't seem that obvious to me, that's all.

Why won't you simply edit the post to say: "I reached out to Edwards when the first application went in and this is what she said" I don't see why any poster should tell someone else what to write in their posts. All seems a bit authoritarian. You have chance to counter his opinion. You did and I'm pretty sure everyone understands what the situation is. I interpreted it as he reached out after the second application. Maybe its my dislexia. I have to read my own posts several times and then edit it to change typo's and bad grammer after it goes live (normally posting from a mobile phone). It was a simple request, it doesn't change anything that the poster was saying. I was even very polite. It helps with the flow of the conversation and someone playing catchup later will probably be thankful that it was signposted correctly. But now we are onto a topic about what is Authoritarian, which I would be happy to tell you how that works in the general thread...

What's not obvious about OM55's first sentence "Her response months ago was the following"? Back to the plans the only objections received so far seem to be from local residents, with just one more received today.

Sounds like it's only me that thought it was misleading.

That's just one company challenging the plans not a political party challenging them?

Don't get me started on etm. They have been the main contractor working on Muller rd since August 2022 an absolute shambles

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-67052207Meanwhile, while we’re arguing about a stand Oxford have unveiled plans for a new ground. if Oxford’s new ground is built the bottom line is that our inability to build a new ground is pretty pathetic whatever the excuses or reasons might be. They will have had two new grounds and we might have just about built a temporary stand by that time. UTG!

Everyone seems to be adding hotels to new stadium builds / plans. Obviously generates decent revenue for the club

I just read that the cost off the new proposed Oxford stadium/hotel complex is £100 million, will be interesting how they manage to fund it, considering the Kassam stadium is not theirs to sale.

It seems pretty easy to get council support in a one club city not so easy when they are two pro football clubs. Although pp might not be that easy to obtain: "A poll held by Kidlington Parish Council in May saw 29.99% of residents cast a vote. The majority of those opposed it"

If you want some help with the planning process.
Danica Priest on X/Twitter posted a tweet at 10.00pm on Monday 9th October 2023 that might help.
"I've started a video series called ‘Teaching You Boring Planning Stuff’ where I teach you boring planning stuff that’s useful to know. Ep1 explains the difference between commenting on a planning application and submitting a statement to the planning committee."
It was also placed on TikTok! by danicapriest at the same time.
