I said there wasn't room for a 4,000 capacity stand going on the size of the Atyeo Stand at Ashton (capacity 4,200), the new South Stand will hold 3,425. You did, whilst it is slightly lower than the Attyeo, it's still more than many were expecting. Yep, the South West Stand doing a quick count (seems to be 25x12) is going to add c300 to the capacity of the full structure as well. I think this is absolutely part of a bigger plan, raising the seated capacity of the Mem will allow a demolition of one of the side stands (my assumption would be Dri-Build with a new stand including boxes, changing rooms, offices, the shop etc). My only worry is the £1.9m costs of the new South Stand. I can't see it being developed again for 12-15 years and will eventually/hopefully just be used as an away end.

I did some research into the cost of prefab stands some time ago and posted on here the cost which is about £50,000 per hundred seats, a total of 1.75 million then you have to add on a couple of hundred thousand for putting in bars etcetra , so that ties in with the 1.9 million quoted in the application. So if we were to add something similar on the north and east sides adding 10K seats then it will cost in the region of £5M? ...and the rest. Firstly we wouldn't want something similar anywhere else - if we're staying it has to be permanent, it has to have a cantilevered roof and it has to have the required facilities built in/underneath it. In terms of the minimum standard that would generate the income we need (both matchday and non-matchday) - and comparing it to a recent build so costs are closer to what we would be charged - you'd be looking at a slightly better version of New Plough Lane? That worked out at around £3.5m per 1,000 seats, so £35m to redo the East and North sides to an 'acceptable' standard with 10k seats....

Interesting that this time a proper planning company signed off on the application and not the CEO. Good to see the new bloke seems to be taking a more professional approach rather than letting a bozo continue to get everything devastatingly wrong. Not sure Joey B had anything to do with the planning application or are you referring to somebody else, if so, care to name and shame them ??

I tried getting the number 73 out if Bradley Stoke, it takes an hour on average, be quicker to walk. I'm usually on the 75/6 from the darkside and the same thing. In the summer I walk up! I haven't had a chance to properly read through the Calibro Travel Plan Framework and Transport Statement Report submitted with the new Planning Application. However, I'm really pleased that this aspect seems to be taken seriously - as with the other supporting documentation.
A quick look suggests the report doesn't seem to cover the potential for new park and ride options - which I do think the club need to explore. Even if this is as basic as the set up that Forest Green set up from the Renishaw car park.
The development of Ashley Down Station also has real potential IMO. The ~1km walk between the new station and the Mem, will be less than my normal walk back to the car. It would be nice to think that there would be viable rail options for midweek games, but smart, integrated timetabling decisions don't happen, do they?

Knowing First there will be no Saturday and Tuesday services. Accepting that City are light years ahead of us, I didn't realise that they operate 3 dedicated matchday bus services from Portway and Brislington P&R and from Temple Meads. Same for the rugby.
First Bus operate the service and they advertise regular departures 2h30min before kick off and returns after the game to the three sites.
No reason Rovers couldn't organise a similar scheme from Yate, Lyde Green or Parkway North? Maybe cut our teeth from one P&R site and expand if there is demand.

I tend to stay out the politics at the football club. Seems like he started off great when he came here from Brighton, but the CEO position may have been a stretch too far, which is not surprising to me as he is a very young CEO. As for joey he would be fine if he stayed off social media
