Added my support.
Anyone else received a letter from the Council outlining the application and inviting comments?
It would make sense if I lived in BS7, but as a resident of BS3 (sorry), not sure what the opinion of me or anyone else down here matters.

I live about a 15 minute walk from the ground but I assumed it's because I submitted a comment on the first application.

Same here regarding a comment, it was just the letter saying "The Occupier" that made we wonder.

I think the council is doing the right thing in asking for comments / feedback. As long as you live in Bristol and pay community charge / registered then I see no issue .
Otherwise: any pressure group on both Right or Left would invade a community and push through legalisation that suits them. It needs to be a combination of national regional and local views that determine decision making.

I no longer live in Bristol, but received a letter inviting comment because I commented on the original proposal - not as a neighbour, but with specific technical information.

Thanks everyone. Maybe it was simply because I made a comment originally and not the Council mailing all of BS3 😁🏴☠️

There is a lot of research that suggest working class people are being pushed out of communities particularly in the west country. Additionally rich people can afford second homes. There could be good reasons why some working class Bristolians can't afford houses in their own communities. Of course local people can set up protest / lobby groups but we need a structure which oversees this. What's stopping large scale groups of wealthy people invading and overtaking communities?. As long as you lived in Bristol at a point : you are registered via community charge or use the facility . Then I see no problem for wider consultation.

I had a little look through some of the objections and they are mainly focused around the same issues. There was one today though that absolutely made me laugh!! One resident doesnt understand why we dont sell the mem and move to a stadium further out if town!! We tried that mate, but you all objected!! Really couldnt make it up!!
On the P&R ideas, didnt the club try a travel plan a few years ago? I remember seeing it on the advertising boards. What happened to that?

I see no problem in the council consulting people who supported this application whether they live in Horfield or not. Are we saying a family from the home counties who oppose the stand and moved near the ground in the last 5 years . Will have more say than a local family from Lockleaze / southmead who lived in Bristol since the war?.
Rightly so the final decision will be made by the all of Bristol policy - makers. This is more democratic and objective. Please support the SOUTH STAND . Register now..

The same resident also suggested that the site should be sold for housing, even though the local residents have had an order placed on the ground in order to ensure it's only ever used as a sports stadium.

Yes, i saw he said to sell for something specific, but couldnt remember what. Its clear that no matter what is planned for the mem site, the local residents will object

It’s perfectly plausible that the people who want it to stay as a stadium aren’t necessarily the same people who want it to become houses.
However there are some people who will complain for the sake of it whatever we want to do because they’re frankly dickheads. Every street has one of them, possibly a few. And they often like getting on the local councils be it parish or otherwise.

Take the stands down and leave the grassed area, then they will be happy. As long as we continue to cut it!
