4K must be possible, full width, extra height and round and up to the West stand, but feels unlikely. Expect it to be closer to 2.5-3k (if it happens- I’ll believe it when I’m looking down on it!)

A question.
If the East stand holds about 1000 seats. Would it be better to ignore that seating and put temp seating all the length of the east terrace with roof on as much as possible. Then sell seats in the old east stand as limited view tickets at a cheaper price ?
If the pitch is moved a yard or two(?) closer to the west stand i dont think you would miss too much of the pitch.

Just checked DB's Twitter and he's posted a link to the article so the increased capacity must be correct. He's also separately confirmed there'll be no safe standing and it'll be just seats. This fixation with safe standing at the Mem makes me laugh. We have ample standing and a shortage of seats. I mean I’d get it if we were flattening and starting again but this is only affecting previously seated areas

Pretty certain you'd lose a view of a far bit of the pitch if you stuck a roof on the East Terrace.

Ten years ago today,Secretary of State Eric Pickles approved our plans for a new stadium!!!!!! The bloke who looked like someone had drawn a very small face in the middle of a very large spud !!!

Good sense of humour, though. When George Osborne posed just before a budget with a takeaway, he posted a picture in the same pose but with a salad. 🤭

footballgroundguide.com/leagues/conference/conference-north/darlington-blackwell-meadows.html As an idea of what you can get in behind the goal, Darlington erected this full length terrace at their shared rugby ground. There are just eight rows with standing room for 1,000. I'm not sure how many rows we have at present but it looks at least double that. Moving the pitch towards the Thatchers end could add a few more rows. If we somehow managed to squeeze in 24 rows along there and add a few rows to the wrap-around it wouldn't be far off 4,000, but I'm no mathematician :-). Liverpool's two new stands have terracing that juts out into the air from the top of the stands, a clever solution that doesn't take up any land or cast shadow on houses. Could that be possible? Obviously not on that scale but something similar. To get the sort of structure at Liverpool you would need deep foundations, even on a smaller scale

Blackpool's main stand and, I'm assuming the stand behind the goal, only holds 5,000 seated fans, I can't see how Rovers can hope to build a 4,000 seat stand mainly just behind the goal, interesting that the firm constructed during the closed season, not sure how the got around the planning rules. www.glevents.co.uk/experience/blackpool-football-club-stand-replacement/

Bath Rugby East stands holds about 7000. It's down in mid May and back up by mid August ( 3 months). It's not got a roof but the size would be nearly twice. I noticed no illustration of stand shared with supporters yet and still no P.P which will take 3 months. I'm looking at a delay start with ground restrictions which is fair enough.

There's only a few houses which is directly affected on Alton Road. The other half of the stand covers 'no man's land ' with no houses just green space. I can't see much local objections!. Presently it looks a right sight with big gaps : noise and privacy issues looking from Alton Road.

As planning permission was granted back in 2008 for the large Memorial stadium development, I shouldn’t imagine there would be too many issues of getting this new south stand PP passed.

As some fans seems to know a lot about the club secretary leaving before it was announced. Is there anyone with any updated info on the south stand ?. It is now 5 weeks and it's gone a bit silent.
This project I.M.O will be exciting and will boost capacity and S.T sales . Any updates ?

To be fair, it's been a little bit drizzly and slightly chilly these past few weeks, so delays are only to be expected on a project of this size.
