I agree and as I been saying for 8 months Labour & Tories will vote in favour of application. I suppose the question we are trying to raise is ; will the Greens use methods which can delay or disolve the process ?. Politics isn't always straight forward and there are ways and means people / groups can exhaust a process. We simply don't know the Greens stance on this revised application ?. Fingers crossed the vote will go that way if it comes to that. Looking at some of the objections somebody is clearly orchestrating them as they all seem similar, I don't know where the bats have suddenly come from as they weren't mentioned in previous objections as far as I can remember. Many of the objections are just the usual, "I can't park my car outside my house" and a lot of other BS. As for the tree forum, how on earth did the Bonnington walk development get passed with all of the trees and shrubbery that were removed there? Anyway, if they want the landlocked green area opened for public access the club should demand it's via the Alton Road gates. I would argue though that if you allow public access it would no longer be the wildlife haven that it is and could become a place for anti social behaviour which no doubt the locals would blame on the club. Like great crested newts, bats are one of those planning red flags. Extra surveys, obligations, etc. if bats roosting, foraging or commuting habitats are impacted by a development. Thankfully, this objection was so laughably poor that noone will take it seriously.

Went to Kingsholm last night , invited by friend, during the all to frequent stoppages in play i found myself admiring the stand we were in ,behind the posts which looks exactly like our new South stand in every detail. i counted the rows ,24, and seats per row 147, capacity circa 3500+. The stand is very, very decent ,great views ,posts and all, plenty of leg room and if ours is finished in a similar mode i can't wait to sit in it! has potential to create a great atmosphere, bring it on!

I've never been but just looked at some photos - looks very similar indeed, wonder if we are considering a screen mounted where they have one...? What's underneath? Is it toilets and food/drink?

I agree your comment frequent stoppages in play however, each time a stoppage occurs the watch is stopped including the stadium clock therefore every one can see how much actual time is left - there is no guessing by fans - just one of the things Association Football could learn from Rugby Football perhaps

Sounds very good! Apart from the atmosphere as that’s going to form a major part of the away end 😁

There is a central tunnel running the full length, if you can imagine the tunnel runs underneath and midway between front and rear of stand, steps on front side giving access to seats , access to toilets on other side, to be honest you could install any concession you wanted beneath the stand.

Went to Kingsholme about 21 years ago to watch Gloucester play Munster in the Heineken Cup' I had family come over from Ireland, had a fantastic day and loved the atmosphere. Irish fans mingled with Gloucester supporters and Alcohol on tap before, during and after......got home about 2 in the morning after 14 hours non stop drinking absolutely sh** faced

The more I read up on the history and development of Kingsholm, the more similarities I see with our history at the Mem. The obvious need to redevelop the stadium to match the requirements/ambition of the team on the pitch. Looking at relocating with opportunities arising (ie 'the Railway Triangle'), being explored and then being closed down for one reason or another. Running a large deficit meaning investment was required for all capital spending. Temporary seating (even temporary hospitality boxes) to accommodate fans when required...
Finally an acceptance that they needed to redevelop the existing stadium piece-by-piece - and when you look at what they now have they've done a good job. Not too costly (main South Stand holds around 7000 and cost just £9m...). Meets all their sporting and some non-matchday requirements. As an added bonus the fans still like it and it feels more homely than a completely new build...
...the only difference is the locals were mostly supportive of all their developments...

Think Supergas makes a very good analogy, there are indeed many similarities, with main stand(our East which has great potential for upgrading) the stand i referred to(our new South) The Shed (Thatcher's) and one end with corporate boxes and standing beneath ( our West) think capacity is around 16-17000 which we could easily achieve. Like Supergas says though ,Gloucester is traditionally a 'rugby' city who are very proud and supportive of the club.

In the excitement and interest of the managerial situation and victory yesterday a MAJOR and LONG-TERM issue can so easily be forgotten. The revised South Stand application NEEDS your support. JUST DO IT. The highly negative anti-stadium protest group are becoming increasingly active. This weekend is when they have been encouraged to send in their objections. In the last 24 hours they have sent in many letters opposing the revised South Stand Application. This is likely to continue. They appear to be claiming that they are NEIGHBOURS. Hoping that this will carry more weight. Devious startegy. Total numbers of letters of support and letters of objection do have an influence on a "tightly balanced decision". Do you or do you not want the development of The Memorial Stadium to occur? If you do then make your point to BCC. It would be really helpful if many more letters of support were sent in over the next two days. pa.bristol.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=S1YCEEDNHVV00If you commented on the previous application that does not mean you or others in your family cannot comment on the revised South Stand application.

Well I thought the South Stand looks great, didn't look temporary, didn't look tin pot, looked like when it's full of Gas it'll be amazing and if the rest of the Stands can get the same treatment, slowly but surely, then it'll be a Ground to be proud of.

Agree that it will look great when it is at capacity but won’t it mainly be for away fans?
How easy will it be to divide between home and away without losing a lot of seats between them?

Well done to those who have put in a SUPPORT comment to BCC Planning.
Please remember to select SUPPORT. One very positive comment has been marked as NEUTRAL.
Another 30 or 40 Support comments today would be really valuable. DO IT.

The stand is designed to be for home and away fans. It is reasonably easy to divide. You are correct about the lost seats. Up to 200 seats could be lost but probably less. Stand holds 3,400+ do not too serious.

Once the South stand is complete I would expect to close the East side to away fans and to try to accommodate all away fans into seats so to make more money per fan.

You might be interested to know.
22nd to 28th October.
A total of 13 Objections to the planned South Stand.
Last 24 Hours.
35 Objections and still coming in.
Despite the massive expense incurred in the provision of reports/investigations/statements as requested.
Despite convincing evidence that the club has listened and positively engaged.
Despite the fact that significant changes have been agreed as requested.
Despite the willingness of the club to go the extra mile.
Despite clear evidence that there are no grounds for refusing planning approval.
SIMPLES.
It's nothing to with the stand itself.
I don't need to explain what it is really about.
Please SUPPORT the South Stand application if you understand what is at stake.
