I was in contact with TG yesterday, enquired about the New South/ southwest stand and he said the club will be making a statement shortly. He is being very tight lipped about this new stand unlike the previous tented stands, which suggests to me that the club don't want the local sad nimbies to know to much about it, suggesting we are going to be getting a decent new stand at the stadium at last. They can't keep it a secret unless it can be flat packed and unfolded 10 minutes before the first match. it could be an air one like those tents

I know i should know better, but can’t help but be a little excited about an almost full 4-sided ground.

A very very small number!. But what would you prefer open space were you can hear noise : fans popping their heads over and sub standard partitioning or a solid sheet sectioning the stadium off. I mean the view from the 8 houses in Alton Road now isn't very private . Go on google map street view and take a look at what they can see. There won’t be any fans popping their heads up. I’d suggest the club are remaining tight lipped because they have nothing to say as it stands. It's a tried and tested policy. 👍

As a fan I can't see the attraction of 3,000 away fans at the Mem, our away from has been bad enough this season when the majority of fans & noise has come from Gasheads.

Really don’t understand this pov , more away fans always adds to the atmosphere and encourages the home fans to up the ante as well. More money for the club , better players etc etc

They can keep it a secret until they submit a planning application, thereby giving local residents less time to get their act together? I'm surprised local residents have already raised concerns given the past problems we've had with them. Exactly, the thing is the club should be in talks with the planning officers so that the plans meet with their agreement before they are submitted. This should shorten the time that it takes for the planning committee to approve the plans. If you can speak to an officer… good luck with that! Still four months from submission to get allocated a planning officer - that’s not determination of decision. Even if this is being done properly (I hope it is) it’s not going to be in place before Christmas. PS whoever mentioned temporary structure it’s a bit of a misnomer - this stand is not going to be temporary despite its construction type (will be in place for over 28 days) so will have to apply for permission as above and get in the queue.

Getting a happy medium is something TG will need to work on. If it's all just about £'s we could already give the entire South Stand and East Terracing to away fans.

Having it built for the summer sounds worrying similar to Wael's "the FM will be built in 2 years" . Next summer is probably more likely once designs have been obtained and approved and plans submitted and, hopefully, approved. If work needs to be done under the scoreboard then that will probably take months on its own

Wonder what the new stand will be called? Can we come up with something better than the new name for Bolton's ground!

I've heard reports of Paphos. Aren't they owned by an ex Pompey owner?

Minimum is 28 days for a temporary structure, Bournemouth temporary south stand was given five years before it had to be removed, after five years the club applied for renewal the stand has now been in place for 10 years.
